seems strange but it's actually a common pattern. there is a subtlety to it that is hard to warn against. cell phones and social media....the whole thing are shiny lures within the confines of the larger net.

With the history of humanity having destroyed the lives of many a family, and country. With the taking of land through blood and false promises throughout history so that a few may succeed at the costs of many.. you find it strange?..

Freedom of expression has little to do with youtube, it is a business model, and is now turning toward socialists ideals of expression on a bottom line..

To destroy america idealism, you have to remove freedom of expression's, you have to find the means to take away an individuals right to defend themselves, but to try what has worked so well in other countries (austrlia, u.k. china, north korea, etc..) here in america, you would have death and destruction of those that seek to do this..

america "was" the last stand, now we are full of cancer, and will soon fall to our very knees, because the generations that exist now?, are far into socialism, self absorption, and narcissism, a perfect tri-vector for "sheep"...

Respectfully to the guest postings above, your points are beautifully articulated but I must disagree with your pessimism.

For one reason, it glorifies the thieves who would steal one of the most beautiful components of our being ... that being the ability to express ourselves, just as you have done.

The one-trick pony view of the world is truly damaging. Youtube may be a huge platform, but it is not the entire world. In fact, there are ways of communicating with one another that do not involve the black plastic screen. Mock and call it "Old School" if you like -- name calling is such an easy way out, isn't it? -- but we can interact without the constrictions of utuber or FakeBoot or any of those other platforms which have purposely branded themselves with juvenile names. There is a world of alternatives if you just turn off that power button and look around.

That being said, I'm not suggesting we throw out the baby with the bath water. Technology is just a form of energy: it's in the way it's used that can cause problems or create wonderful things. You can choose to hide from it, you can ignore it, or you can work to change it. One person alone may not solve the problems, but a group of like-minded folks with good intentions just might.

Give up if that is your choice, but it's not mine.
