Did you ever pray to Mother Mary? I was taught to in Catholic school. When Tony was in the hospital and it was touch and go,I performed blots and prayers to the wife of the mad,one eyed god. I figured it was logical since if she,as a wife, could put up with Odin's shit, who am i that I can't deal with my husband's?  Heartflowers
Not exactly something Jesus could handle,no offense meant to anyone.

Never prayed to anyone but God. God made us all and the universe so He gets my prayers and worship.
Isaiah 5:20 (KJV)
Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Nope
Saints. I always loved saints, which makes perfect sense when you think about it.
Completely turned my back on the church at about.... 15...
I hated going. I do like being in a church  but the ceremony falls flat for me.
I do love gospel choir churches though.
All the singing and dancing.
They look like they're having a good time.

Makes perfect sense. I started figuring out a lot of the saints were really gods and goddesses of old early on. I love old cathedrals, beautiful but I get no sense of anything really spiritual.
Ever been to a black folk's church? They are fun, just eat well before you go and maybe bring an energy drink  Heartflowers

Old time Pentecostal churches where the same. Southern Gospel Music for the win!!!
Yup, I grew up Pentecostal

I don't think that little kids really need to pray.

Except maybe around Christmas time....
For that new bicycle.
Or in my case....
A new water bong.
Chuckle
(Santa never came through, in case you were wondering)

I prayed, but had no idea why.
Hail Mary our father. Whatever.

I discovered novenas to saints , at about age... 14...

My best childhood friend, was dying.
And I do mean dying. We were 17.

I prayed and prayed. Said novena after novena.
St Theresa. She was my mother's Saint.
She prayed to her all the time.

When a Saint answers your prayer, you get a sign that it's been granted.
I got my sign.
My friend is now married, quite happily, living healthy in Vegas.
Given her health issues, we never thought she would ,or could, get married.

St Theresa.... <3

We do not and He specifically told his followers NOT to pray to Him but to pray to God and to close the prayer in His name. In Matthew when they asked Him how to pray He recited the Lord's Prayer , telling them to pray that. Heartflowers

There are many Christians though that don't understand that. I think that is what confuses people.

It would be interesting to know when that 'quote' was first attributed to the Rabbi.
The concept of Trinity was not initially a part of Christian doctrine. It took early churchmen a few hundred years to come up with the idea that Jesus was God.
Up until then, Jesus was considered a teacher & a prophet.

You are walking down the path of Unitarians with those words.
The debate has been going on for centuries. You are in good company
as Frank Lloyd Wright was a Unitarian. He designed at least one
church building in his career.

- picture of it about midway down the article. Likewise, the same article reflects a lot of your
comments in previous threads. Maybe you have found your home.

Yes, sadly I know. He never ever denied God as His father and he prayed to God. He was speaking to Him on the cross. I do not think people have a clue about what he endured throughout that day, not a hint. He demonstrated to us how much he was willing to pay for us. He did not have to do this but he loved us so he did it. Just my belief.

And yet The Apostle's Creed states that "Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father".

Also: If Jesus and God are one, who was Jesus praying to all those times he was in prayer during his ministry?

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

You'll find this written in John 14, the fourth chapter, verse 6.

This ^ ^.
One of the most important pieces of Scripture.
