They have officially dolarized our economy. Today the lady at the cash register asked me if I wanted to pay in US $.

With the proper change of the parallel dolar which stands at 6.400 bs per dolar. So, I went to see how much a head and shoulders shampoo costs and they are selling it at $10. The price tags are marked in US $. I don´t know how much does a head and shoulders shampoo costs in the US but it seems rather expensive here.

People´s adquisition power is finished. Caput. This is what is generating the extreme humanitarian crisis. Imagine this with every single one of our products. Everything just about everything has been dolarized. I don´t even know why they need a regime change anymore. They got their wish.

I just looked it up online, and Walmart has it for $3.67.

And thank you for bumping this thread @Ironhide . I had missed it when you posted it the other day.
It seems to me that things are looking up for you!!

So it makes you wonder why in the hell they are charging $10 here for? Well the economy is getting tough due to the extreme hyperinflation but it sucks when people go on speculating the way they do here. We are only hurting ourselves.

When my company was doing business down there, many years ago, inflation was relatively low compared to Argentina and other S. American countries.

my guess is some multi-nationals still want to get their hands on Venezuela's oil.

what's your agricultural sector like, my thoughts being if a large portion of the country is producing food, then the country can ride out the storm...

This is all so sad, Ironhide. I'm very sorry for your country and its people. tears
I just looked up Head & Shoulders prices in the U.S., looks like it's not a lot less
here, about $9 for 23+ oz @ Walgreen's and ~$7 for 13.5 oz. @ CVS.

Hang in there. It's very kind of you to share updates of the situation there. Heartflowers
