The State Department has ordered all non-emergency personnel at the U.S. Embassy and consulate in Iraq to leave the country amid rising tensions between the U.S. and Iran, the agency said in a security alert on its website early Wednesday morning. The alert also said that normal visa services would be temporarily suspended.

Oh boy!  Still hoping this is just posturing.

Iran stated numerous times they do not want war.

I for one am not so sure though.

Maybe if the iranians moved their naval fleet and nukes away from the usa coasts we could believe them no?

I mean having the iranians parked so close to our coasts is kinda threatening.

Oh wait......

Like I said Muslims are taught to lie to infidels, you can never ever believe what they say.

The government has a monopoly on force. The IRGC has machine guns, nobody else over there does. That's one big reason besides religion.

Aside from the Pharsi separatists, whose complaints are legitimate but should also include the US, the Iranians don't really seem to be that hateful of their government. There are universities, quiet villages. Iran was a lot like Kansas in surprising ways, year before last. There are things people know are wrong, but there is enough that is OK to keep everyone from grabbing torches and pitchforks. We aren't rescuing people here, this is just a raid.

Pentagon has already said if it does kickoff the IRGC Camps will be completely annihilated first. Maybe just maybe they will rise up in a military coup and save their country. One could hope.

That's probably some Israeli propaganda you've been reading. The Pentagon doesn't usually disclose battle plans ahead of time.

I still find it a hard pill to swallow with Iran having Russia as an ally. I was aware of the war there with Russia invading Iran back in the 70's. Enough to remember it as a reference....Russia finally got its footing in the Middle East with Syria and Iran. This isn't an Israeli proxy war developing. That is a bullshit arguement, in my opinion (and it is only that).....this is our own war Hawks Hawking. There is always going to be a threat to the USA from a given Arab nation. Western ideology and Islamic "rule by God" will always conflict, and there are more and more jihads being declared against the US..... Iran, China, Russia, Syria.....that is a new axis that is being glossed over.....bigly. Russia will exploit this because that is what they do. Ok, I have exceeded my rant quota for the month. Bowing out for a bit.

Iranian presidential aide says Trump will 'get a war' for listening to 'the mustache' John Bolton

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s advisor assailed President Trump Tuesday, saying he will get a “war” for listening to National Security Advisor John Bolton, referring to him as “the mustache.”

Hesamoddin Ashena, Rouhani’s key advisor, took to Twitter after U.S. military experts suggested “Iran or its proxies” damaged four commercial ships off the coast of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sunday.

“You wanted a better deal with Iran. Looks like you are going to get a war instead. That’s what happens when you listen to the mustache. Good luck in 2020!” Ashena wrote in a tweet.
