U.S. lawmakers want Trump to explain giving intelligence to Russia
#1
President Donald Trump came under pressure on Tuesday from U.S. lawmakers, including some of his fellow Republicans, to give a fuller explanation of why he revealed highly sensitive intelligence information to senior Russian officials at a White House meeting last week.

U.S. officials said Trump discussed intelligence about Islamic State with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Russian Ambassador Sergei Kislyak at last Wednesday's talks in the Oval Office.

The information had been supplied by a U.S. ally in the fight against the militant group, the officials said. The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and CNN identified the ally as Israel but two U.S. national security sources said they doubted that. Israeli officials declined to comment.

The disclosure of Trump's discussion rocked the administration as it struggled to move past the backlash over Trump's abrupt firing on May 9 of FBI Director James Comey, whose agency is investigating potential ties between Russia and Trump's 2016 presidential campaign.

What's funny is that McMasters says Trump wasn't even aware of the classified information. So someone is leaking classified information, again, to journalists...

So reuters is in on the witch hunt too? Big surprise.

He was entitled to declassify and share it. He is the president and this is just more pure bullshit.

He needs to learn to keep his trap shut though.

It is a miracle his bravado and bluster didn't cost him the election.  Sometimes he needs to just shut up. I'll grant you that.

But this is the promised witch hunt the leftist goons intend to get away with.  I don't really care any more. Hillary lost and the Dems are going to be eviscerated in the mid term elections.. Scorched Earth is the failed policy of petty tyranny.

Assets on the ground providing valuable intel might care to not be compromised. Just saying. There is procedure and protocol in place for intel sharing for a reason. Whatever he said has already had repercussions (no, you won't find that in the news. *wink *nod *cough-cough)

But to be perfectly honest, I wouldn't care if Trump had met with the entire Kremlin and discussed classified material concerning ISIS.

This whole "Russia is the boogeyman" narrative that's been spun after Russia didn't cuck out when it came to Ukraine is absolutely hilarious. No they aren't angels but I'd take them as allies before at least half of the ones we have now

I am so happy to see other people getting fed up with the media and their Russia crap. When I heard yet another Trump/ Russia story this morning I exploded. Enough! :s977: :s977:

So Trump talked to the Russian about terrorism. Sort of like when Russia talked to Obama about the Tsarnaev brothers. U.S. lawmakers must be getting paid real big by TPTB in order to go this far. Doesn't anyone in Washington beside Rand Paul and Trump have a back bone?

U.S. President Donald Trump asked then-FBI Director James Comey to end the agency's investigation into ties between former White House national security adviser Michael Flynn and Russia, according to a source who has seen a memo written by Comey.
The explosive new development on Tuesday followed a week of tumult at the White House after Trump fired Comey and then discussed sensitive national security information about Islamic State with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
