Trump will be in Atlanta today for the ‘Black Voices for Trump’ Coalition Launch

The president will hold a roundtable discussion with supporters and deliver remarks at a luncheon in Buckhead.

President Trump will launch his new Black Voices for Trump Coalition at the Georgia World Congress Center. That event is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.

Black Americans have never had a better champion than President Trump,” Katrina Pierson, senior advisor at Donald J. Trump for President Inc., wrote in a statement emailed to Newsweek. “The Black Voices for Trump coalition will be a national effort to mobilize and empower Black Americans who support President Trump to help get the message of ‘Promises Made, Promises Kept’ into communities across America.”
She added, “Under President Trump, unemployment for African Americans has reached historic lows and nearly 1.4 million new jobs have been added for African Americans. Black Americans’ strong support for President Trump will ensure a second term for the President.”
A senior White House official said Atlanta was selected for the launch because it is the center for African American life and culture in the United States. The official also highlighted Metro Atlanta’s fast-growing African American population as a contributing factor.
President Trump will also host a lunch to try to drum up support for U.S. Sen. David Perdue. The price of admission is $2,800 and will require more than $100,000 to attend a private roundtable with President Trump. If a person wants to take a photo with the President, it will cost $35,000. Vice President Mike Pence is expected to join him and speak to the audience as well.
In 2016, almost 8% of black people voted for Trump. A recent poll conducted by the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research showed that just 4% of those in the black community believe the president’s actions have benefited them.

The regions of Atlanta he must travel through as well as hold the meetings are THE WORST for gun violence...

Excellent. He'll get a ton of grief from the usual suspects of
course. He is more than deserving of a victory lap in this
area where he has truly done such a phenomenal amount
of work. Whether it's acknowledged or not, the facts speak
for themselves.

I'm sure he will be well protected in those areas you mention,

Humes’ family friend created a GoFundMe page after his death. The page says Humes was out with friends and decided to walk home when he was attacked and killed.

“Our hearts are broken. This past weekend Kevin was out with his friends in Atlanta for dinner and drinks. While on his walk home he was innocently targeted and killed in a senseless and random act of gun violence. Under normal circumstances Kevin would have called for an Uber but instead chose to walk given the current Covid pandemic. He was attacked less than a mile from his home,” the page says.
