I'm in eastern,NC. There is a band of t-storms headed here in a few hours. It's moving slowly across the Piedmont. I think we're good.

Heading our way this afternoon. I wonder if the mountains will break the system up. Half of the time it does.
@Deepsouthlady I am relieved ya'll are okay Heartflowers Kiss

Looks like the storm did break in half...the bigger part of the storm up in the north and the weaker (but still producing some tornadoes) in the south. Maybe all the ingredients are still down south.

We just had a whopper of a storm come through here in Western North Carolina, high wind and severe rain and thunderstorms.

I haven't heard of any tornadoes in my area though!

@WNC are you ok. I heard you guys got hit hard in your area?

Lots of downed trees all over.

11 thousand without power..

He lost power about 3:15 PM. We have a severe thunderstorm warning but radar looks like the worst will skip us on the way to sea.

It's here now. Along with tornado watches/warnings back in Williamsburg.

EDIT: And just like that, the worst has passed over and headed to sea. Power flickered once and that was it.

All we have had is wind, not even heavy gusts. The Appalachia effect I call it.

O.K. here, hope everyone else is o.k. Power came back on at about 5:40 PM then went out again at 7:40 PM. Still out, Duke expects to have it restored around 3:00 this afternoon.

And on the upside, it sounds like (last I heard) hurricane season might not be like last year.

Thinking I read it was going to be more active. That doesn't always mean more severe though.
