The heat from plasma converters causes pyrolysis, a process in which organic matter breaks down and decomposes. Plasma torches can operate in airtight vessels. ... The only waste that a plasma converter can't break down is heavy radioactive material, such as the rods used in a nuclear reactor.

From what i hear, it's a self sustaining reaction fueled by garbage, producing a gas usable for fuel, and an ash like substance that can be used in roads and the like.

Making money from garbage.

Start paying people a bit to bring their garbage to plasma converters, burn it off.

Better solution than just throwing it into a hole, or in my countries case.. The ocean.

It could be a job for the homeless bums, gather garbage for a bit of money, cleaning the streets.

We burn it and produce fuel and raw material for roads

Bum gets to buy a 6 pack.

lol bums need a drink too.

but its a start on the cleanup aspect. now what we need is a ban on manufacure.

We need a bio-degradable equivalent so we can start to switch over.
One without too many drawbacks.

Otherwise nobody would be willing, and would possibly be disastrous.

A way of destroying waste and making it profitable would be a start.

India and China are responsible for 90% of the worlds plastics pollution.  What do you supposed we do about it?

it needs banning world wide. no plastics no where. its the only way. its not going to just go away on its own.

Only a one world government could impose a worldwide ban.  Do you want a one-world government?
It already exists.
You just don't see the players.

One day the might treat plastic waste like we treat lead. At least plastic can be melted down to a solid block.

I doubt they can ever filter it out without filtering and killing all the sea life, but at least it ain't nuclear fallout.

It might kill a bunch of crap, but at least it won't destroy DNA

Life will find a way, it's persistent.

Besides, it won't evaporate and come down with the rain, so at least most of the surface life will remain somewhat untouched.

Quote:Plastic was the furthest thing from Gregory Wetherbee’s mind when he began analyzing rainwater samples collected from the Rocky Mountains. “I guess I expected to see mostly soil and mineral particles,” said the US Geological Survey researcher. Instead, he found multicolored microscopic plastic fibers.

The discovery, published in a recent study (pdf) titled “It is raining plastic”, raises new questions about the amount of plastic waste permeating the air, water, and soil virtually everywhere on Earth.

And WHERE does MOST plastic come from?????????????? "OIL" most people do NOT understand how OIL controls much more of the world than they realize. many places have already banned plastic, but we need to be smart about it.

i dont know what devices youre referrimg to, but plastics isnt the only solution. just the cheapest and most polluting.

There are literally thousands and I'm not going to list them all but here is an example. It is an Ambu bag for CPR and saves lives. I do agree with
you on taking a look at plastics but a ban is not practical.

there are alternatives. this is just a quick search. just grabbed the first one.

i see no reason to use plastics anymore. if you can point me to one instance of plastics where it cant be replaced with something else ill gladly take a look at it.

Pretty harsh don't you think @Kadosh  He is new and just brain storming an idea. Facepalm

Harsh by saying how stupid it would be to try to outlaw plastic or by saying he must live a sheltered life? I'm still learning to speak to snowflakes. 1dunno1

so im a snowflake because i can think for myself? only a brain dead moron continues to poison himself.

Well console yourself with the thought that you're in no danger of dying alone then.
