India and China are responsible for 90% of the worlds plastics pollution.  What do you supposed we do about it?

it needs banning world wide. no plastics no where. its the only way. its not going to just go away on its own.

Only a one world government could impose a worldwide ban. Do you want a one-world government?

nah could be done if people wanted to.

but on a side note we already have a one world government. just look around. its here and its just going to get worse. but that is a different thread.

i dont know what devices youre referrimg to, but plastics isnt the only solution. just the cheapest and most polluting.

They have had the technology to convert plastic to fuel and oil for awhile. It keeps improving.

If you think plastic is the biggest issue facing our world today, you're either a liberal eco-moron or you're living a pretty sheltered life.

Right, I dont think he has thought this through.

Kneejerk AOC type reaction.

wrong ive been sayimg it for a long time. i just dont usually share my thoughts on the net. especially in ct forums that are over run by gov shills, and im not claiming any of you are. i can usually spot them by thier absurd arguments and thier constant tryimg to incite an argument.

Quote:Plastic was the furthest thing from Gregory Wetherbee’s mind when he began analyzing rainwater samples collected from the Rocky Mountains. “I guess I expected to see mostly soil and mineral particles,” said the US Geological Survey researcher. Instead, he found multicolored microscopic plastic fibers.

The discovery, published in a recent study (pdf) titled “It is raining plastic”, raises new questions about the amount of plastic waste permeating the air, water, and soil virtually everywhere on Earth.

I so totally agree with you !!

In the first 20+ years of my life, I was unaware of any plastic-anything, anywhere.
Bags were made paper, cotton or burlap (a hemp product).
Packaging was paper, cardboard or glass.
Glass was often recycled (milk bottles, etc.).

I looked up the timeline of plastic, and found this link, which confirms that plastic didn't come into wide use until the 1960's.

"1960s High-density polyethylene bottles introduced and soon replace glass bottles in most applications"

Heavenly Father, please keep President Donald J. Trump and his family safe and protected, along with all the Patriots who are working with him and for him. Protect and Nurture our Nation and help us through these turbulent times. We ask this in the Name of Christ  Amen

Quote:The Purdue team use a technique called hydrothermal processing. Others have employed it before to convert other types of plastic feedstock to oil, but the yield of those processes has been low. Wang and her colleagues place the poplypropylene in a reactor filled with water, and heat it up to temperatures ranging from 380–500°C for up to five hours at a pressure of 23 Megapascals. At the high heat and pressure, water breaks down the plastic and converts it into oil.

doesnt sound too feasible. maybe a btter alternative would be to not make plastics in the first place.

but as a start it would help getting rid of what we already have.

According to Chris Cuomo, this needs to be banned:
