The New Logo is here! The New Logo is here!

We don't have any Kroger's in CA afaik. The first time I heard
it mentioned was quite a few years ago on a "Designing Women"
rerun, had no idea to what was being referred at first (a
grocery store of course). In fact my only knowledge of that
name to that point was the surname of a neighborhood family
growing up. I understand Kroger's is quite an institution in the
South.

Otoh Safeway are ubiquitous in this state and I was quite
surprised to learn not too many years ago that it is also
present in the South. Not sure where else it is located, if
it is in any other states/regions.

I guess the "o" represents a valued customers body or sink and/or toilet and the 'K' pipe is going into the pie hole and/or toilet and the 'g' pipe is the anus or drain/sewer pipe.

Fabulous design. fabulous.

They started out in the Midwest but they are quickly gobbling up supermarkets across the country. Check out their entry on Wikipedia to see just how many grocery store chains they have gobbled up.

As it should. Kroger financially supports the queer agenda. Kroger even had a float in the Columbus, Ohio queer pride parade recently. We haven't shopped Kroger since!

OMG.   So what your saying is the 'O' is symbolically a butthole....and the K and the G are beginning to become semi-engorged and becoming erect?
Aaahhh

Actually, I'm more bothered that their mascot is steam-rolled on the cover of their catalog.

Good Point. Where the hell was PETA?

There definitely has to be a reason the K goes into the O and G comes out of the bottom.
The RRs and that E seem to be oblivious to this assault.

My weekend is ruined.

Actually, that elephant was part of a cross-promotion for Top Value trading stamps. The elephant's name was Toppie and trading stamps were issued, kind of like coupons, which could be saved and later redeemed for certain items. Here's a cover from a catalog from things you could get from the Top Value trading catalog.

Not sure what stake, if any, Kroger had in the Top Value company. There were a lot of trading stamps issued during certain eras, one of the most popular being S&H green stamps.

This still doesn't explain those checkers?

The checkered table cloth was the universal sign for Eating outside and inside... It used to equate to eating... Groceries...eating..
