The grocery chain said in a press release Wednesday that the redesigned logo and new slogan, “Fresh for Everyone,” is “inclusive, clear and memorable.”

It always annoys me that the "k" and the "g" are pokin' at the "o".

Corporations spend a lot of money on logo design. What looks like a simple font change to us (and essentially, it is) actually has a lot more significance behind it. They spend big bunches of money figuring out branding so you have to wonder why, thorugh these various changes, Kroger is sticking with the "poked o" concept. What subconscious message does this send to the public?

I was just wondering it the K had something to do with the elephant's trunk?

I never knew Kroger had an elephant as a mascot. As for the new logo, it is quite bland.

Actually, that elephant was part of a cross-promotion for Top Value trading stamps. The elephant's name was Toppie and trading stamps were issued, kind of like coupons, which could be saved and later redeemed for certain items. Here's a cover from a catalog from things you could get from the Top Value trading catalog.

Not sure what stake, if any, Kroger had in the Top Value company. There were a lot of trading stamps issued during certain eras, one of the most popular being S&H green stamps.

As it should. Kroger financially supports the queer agenda. Kroger even had a float in the Columbus, Ohio queer pride parade recently. We haven't shopped Kroger since!
