The inevitable damnation of the hypocrite
#1
I am a hypocrite.

I curse the things that I disagree with on one hand and openly embrace them on another

I have always hada weird relationship with the LGBTQ community.

as a Libertarian...I want you to be free...to pursue whatever it is that makes you happy

as a human monster...I think you are a freak of nature and defy the natural order of things

I have managed to tread this hypocrisy rather well for a long time....using wit and intellect to deflect my real and true feelings.

I do not hate the lgbtq....I just think they are unnatural and have no place in a civilized society.....

I am being open and honest here so stfu and let me finish before you judge

until now.

I have three daughters

one is an EMP sr\erving thepublic

One is a librarian who became a multilingual asset for the us gov....grief on this later....

and then there is my baby girl

my youngest daughter is a lesbian....

I love her like the wind loves the fields of grain....she can do no wrong in my eyes.....

I so want her to be happy

I have cursed some over the years for less....and here I am....3 daughters and a handful of hypocrisy

who am I?

nothing matters more than the happiness of my children

sometimes

I feel dirty

like I have let them down

My youngest is the light of my life and I just want her to be happy....even when it defies everything I ever stood for

how insane is that?

Being a freak of nature who loves God, it is a difficult thing to rectify.
Is it wrong? Yes.
Does God my father still love me? Yes.

So... Heck of an example to lay on you, but it's what I've got.
We all walk our own paths.
Love your child.
He would do no less.

Interesting that you listed the other two daughters professions yet stated your youngest was a lesbian.

Love your daughter, she is a whole lot more than one label.

This is true, and it falls away in importance as you get older.

She is a student now.

She was a physical therapist but went back to school full time...

sorry if that seemed weird.

The weird part for me is the cognitive dissonance and having to break away from long held views

it is weird for me to even talk about it but I needed to talk about it to anyone that would listen

I noticed your posts were mainly about you and your feelings. Yes, things are hard to come to terms with if you were preached to about what is normal or sinful. Your daughter is no different today then she was a year ago. Good luck in coming to terms that those long held beliefs may not have been correct.

I don't believe that most gay people choose to be gay. Life would be much easier for them if they were naturally straight like most people.
Would you rather see her live a miserable loveless life in denial, or find the kind of love that would make her feel complete.
If being a lesbian is the most evil thing she does, you're luckier than a lot of other parents.

Of course it is about Damrod's feelings. That is what Damrod is processing. That's not bad or wrong, it just is.

Damrod, I only have the perspective of a daughter. My parents freaked out when I told them of my life choice. Part of that was... I had been processing my feelings for years. They had it dumped on their doorstep all at once. No wonder it may seem a shock to you, and may make you have to re-evaluate all your current reasonings. What you belive, that is right for you. Your Daughter is giving you the gift of making sure your convictions are true for you, and also the gift of acceptance, should you choose that.

Ultimately, what won out was familial love. There were a couple decades of distance between us.
I am sorry, I can't offer you my parent's perspective as they are closed mouth about it with me. They love me, and that is enough.
