The Rules

It has, for some time, been an idea, of mine, recurring, that,  I would test a thread called 'Snapshots'.

And so, as it is now Fall, and, as I, find myself so inclined, (HAPPY BIRTHDAY FRINGE)I am going to start this baby up.

The idea is for one fringer, et al, who, are of a mind, to, post a singular post, about anything of interest to them.

One but only one frame!

No cheating!  And That is an order!

My idea is to use whatever tools you might have,  photos, vids, pointers, music, poetry, quotes, photoshop... to create a singular post, to hopefully,

generate, maximum interest.

You may know nothing about the subject of inerest, all the better! Absolutely no scholars allowed on this thread!

So, here goes.

(Not to break my own rules, I will post my first snapshot,

nextly. In due timez}

DARK PHOTONS! The Fifth Force?

" The Universe is driven by four fundamental forcesgravity, electromagnetism and the strong and weak nuclear forces. The behavior of matter within the Universes governed by their interactions via these forces.
If these four forces are truly the only forces there are, then by understanding these forces we should have a full understanding of how objects interact.
So when matter behaves in a way that is odd or unexplainable, one idea that often gets considered is that there might be another force at work.
Perhaps there is a fifth fundamental force we haven’t yet discovered."

Painter's Selfies

Why do artists make self portraits? Are self portraits the original selfies?

Traditionally, artists create self portraits to announce one's vocation as an artist, or one's style.

I paint self-portraits because I am so often alone, because I am the person I know best.
Frida Khalo

I have never painted a self-portrait. I am less interested in myself as a subject for a painting than I am in other people, above all women... There is nothing special about me. I am a painter who paints day after day from morning to night... Who ever wants to know something about me... ought to look carefully at my pictures.
Gustav Klimt

An honest self-portrait is extremely rare because a man who has reached the degree of self-consciousness presupposed by the desire to paint his own portrait has almost always also developed an ego-consciousness which paints himself painting himself, and introduces artificial highlights and dramatic shadows.

Greasy spoon

is a colloquial term for a small, cheap restaurant or diner typically specializing in fried foods. "greasy spoon" is a reference both to the typically high-fat, high-calorie menu items at such places, for example eggs and bacon, and to the supposed general standard of cleanliness. The term has been used to refer to a "small cheap restaurant" since at least the 1920s.

Anyone here as fascinated with crazy Russian stuff as I am?

I certainly don't recommend this but, If you have never heard of these guys, here they are.

Marat Dupri is the master of Moscow's skies. Breathtaking photographs of his climbing adventures on the highest and most heavily guarded buildings in the Russian capital have made him a household name across the country.  The media has dubbed him the "skywalker.
Dupri belongs to the generation in Russia that grew up after the breakup of the Soviet Union and only learned about communism through textbooks.
Now he recounts to SPIEGEL ONLINE how it feels when he scales Moscow's tallest buildings, doing what some call "roofing."

"I was a sickly child, and didn't develop well due to a lack of vitamins and environmental pollution. I had a weak heart. The doctors told me I couldn't play sports; it was like a lifelong punishment. I found 'roofing' exciting, and I found someone who took me onto my first roof. I had to climb 48 stories to get to the top of the building. I was tired after that, but happy. Roofing has kept me healthy. My heart beats better.
What we do is a bit anarchistic. We defy the security guards. When we go onto especially well-guarded buildings, we sometimes get arrested ...
