#21
here is my take ..

this is still america. free will exists. the problem is most people want instant gratification. most people have been hearing the DESERVE word wayyyyyy to much and believe it.

no you dont DESERVE a cell phone
no you dont DESERVE a new car
no you dont DESERVE a roof over your head

you DESERVE the pursuit of happiness..meaning, what you are willing to work for and or sacrifice ..

it is the pursuit that is the right.. not the result.

How far we have fallen.

I tried the stay at home mom thing. Best years of my life until the financial hammer dropped and back to work mom goes just to pay taxes, baby sitters and gas. Smileyfp

I am a blessed man, I really am. I've been able to work and my wife stays at home. Even during the hard times I have somehow been able to hold it together.
I realize not everyone can do that. But I have no debt. I drive a car that's old enough to vote and we don't have expensive clothes or eat out as much as we'd like but I wouldn't have it any other way.

I have seen so many families where mom goes to work so they can have the brand new, brand name things. This turns into buying the teens an ipad in hopes they'll say out of trouble. Then more bills. Simple is better, imho.
Simple is way better. You got that right. I have friends who have nice cars, nice clothes and fancy shit that costs more than they can afford. They both work and wonder why it's a struggle.
I have my own struggles of course, but I don't worry about the crap they do. The debt would worry me to death.

Same here.

It was something we faced just recently with the expenses of my sister's services, and my other sister's stroke.

We literally live paycheck to paycheck.... and right now that isn't even cutting it.... But..

Our home and 10 acres is paid for.  We literally have NO debt!  We drive used cars we saved and paid cash for.

And we have friends and family that are up to their eyeballs in debt.  100's of thousands of dollars in debt!  Sure they live in HUGE MC Mansions and drive cars that cost twice as much as we spent on our house.

And though we were struggling, and by outward appearances are the "poor" side of the family....

I couldn't bring myself to accept money from them. :(

We do deserve a Government that puts the interests of the vast majority over the interests of the 0.01%. If we had such a Government people would have the new cars and homes because they could work for them. We no longer have the conditions in this country that will allow people to work and get ahead.

Eliminate one Billionaire and replace him with 1,000 people with a million. Eliminate the Waltons and their 140 billion and replace them with 140,000 small business owners with a million each and you would see the American economy and happiness boom. Imagine 140,000 small business owners spreading that wealth compared to it all sitting in the Walton family vaults.

I agree.  But one of the biggest problems is the misconceptions of many staunch liberals, of who the 1% is!

Many of these kids seem to think that anyone who isn't on welfare and government aid is the 1 percent.

That those old folks that worked their asses off, and scrimped and saved and lived within their means and saved, are the 1%

Or even that those small business owners who put in outrageous hours of almost constant work, are the 1%

8 automatically raise an eyebrow at the mention of 1%, because the term has been hijacked by the Left to push the Communist ideal of redistrdistribution of wealth.

You are spot on. I agree. The problem is that people are immoral. Morality is taught. It's not instinct. Instinct is taking care of YOU and as long as you have YOURS.
The dipshits on the left think it takes government to step in and make things fair. The ones that we would trust to do the right thing are the same greedy immoral motherfuckers that day trade and consolidate so they have THIERS.
Wall street and k street are the same brothel with a different sign out front.
We need morality. Everywhere. It needs to be taught. Like yesterday.

I can agree with that. I am not for redistribution as much as I am for fair distribution. The government needs to bust monopolies. No person should own over 1,000 stores. I like to see many people have a chance to own a business. It's one reason I seldom eat at any franchise. I rather my money support a mom and pop diner or Pizza joint and not Pizza Hut. The people I have problems with are the 0.01% and not people who worked hard and made something.

I agree.  It should be a common sense capitalist system.

Stop all the loopholes and tax breaks to companies that out source, and cheat paying taxes by moving their money out of the country.

And give all of those incentives and breaks to ALL small business owners,

Not based on race or gender
