That's another theory/opinion.

Some years back I read a book by Taylor Caldwell (I don't remember the title of the book), and her opinion was as you said in your post ~ that we don't reincarnate, but those things we remember are from our ancestors and the memories are stored in our DNA.

I tend to go with the reincarnation theory as opposed to the DNA-memory theory.
I suppose we'll know the answer to that question when we get to the other side.

I’ve done some work with a Aboriginal guy (amazing the information this person has) his take on that is that BOTH of these can happen.
Sometimes the trauma from genetic ancestry can be triggered and “come online” in the individual

It could be a bit of both...
Thinking

Absolutely.
We do seem to inherit skills and a propensity for various things from our DNA,
so why not Memory as well?   1dunno1

I think we do but we're not consciously aware of it until we are presented with it:
A phobia, a skill or particular knowledge of something we shouldn't know anything about.

I've always wondered about thet...genetic memory. I've had visions of being in my early teens and running barefoot through a mountain forest. My people are from Appalachia but I never had that experience. I was running for my life but never could see from who or what.

When I was small I had a reoccurring dream of being hunted through the forest.
I knew if I were found I would surely be killed, it was terrifing. I told my grandfather about it once.
He said I should ask my animal guild to show me the way out. I did and it did and I never had that dream again.
