Iran would be absolutely annihilated and stomped if it EVER started an all out war with Israel or Saudi Arabia.  100 percent

That's what the USA thought when they ignited the Iran Iraq war...

Facepalm

Don't believe what you see on TV - women in Iran are free to show their hair if they want, drive, own property etc - as in Turkey - SA, IRAQ, AFGHANISTAN - not so much!

this is different than the iran iraq war munchers :o lots of stuffs going on

Thing is, the current boogey man of ISIS is virtually no more.

Moderate Arabs who are up to the gills with Jihadi bullshit are shutting it down, on the quiet, with no fanfare. They're getting some cover from the U.S., and not militarily. They understand ISIS better than any westerner. They're locals with the motivation and means to cleanup their own neighborhood.

They'll soon be allowed to drive too - I'm not saying progress is not being made - I'm just saying be wary of the "boogey men" you were told to hate by previous US regimes...

Actually, iirc ~ women CAN drive now is SA!  Yeah

Yup.  The Saudis are NOTHING as they are portrayed.  Their military is kickin' arse over there.  And, they are going about it clandestinely. The moderates, who'd like to remain 'royal' have about had it with the Middle Ages mindset.

Im sorry my friend, but I have to tell you that your 'view on the Syrian war is absolutely good for shit. You guys are sticking up for Saudi Arabia? They are ONE of the countries that have been helping ISIS in many forms. The Syrian's have spilled their blood fighting on their OWN soil to keep the ISIS dogs away from their families. The one nation that actually fought ISIS neck and tooth and to the grave (Syria) are being attacked by those who have helped ISIS. PS, in Saudi Shitrabia, people cut each others heads off over parking spots.

I know damn well whats been going on in Syria. I've been following it CLOSELY since day 1. I'm not a person who just casually strolls into a subject and give an opinion based on a couple articles and no knowledge on the subject what so ever. How would you folks in the USA feel if you had an Islamist-Jihadist-terrorist 'uprising' against your government (no matter if you like your government or not) and had foreign nations help those terrorists kill your women and children?

The point of Wictor's observations and my comments above, is that the dynamic has changed.

Granted, the Middle Eastern mindset is nearly polar the western attitude. The Crown Prince Salman is looking toward the future and dragging his country to meet it head on. He knows the barbarity and religious extremism must go. He also knows the oil wells will go dry. He doesn't want to see his country bombed to glass.

Middle Easterners will fight each other if not quicker than anyone else. The GCC is eliminating the local bad actors (ISIS, Hezbollah, Iran) to prevent more war with the West. It's going on quietly but very efficiently. It is not making headlines, but things are changing.

Hezbollah have been fighting ISIS since day one. What makes them 'bad actors' ? Because they fought Israel ? Just because some soldiers fight Israel doesn't make them bad actors. Hell, Israel has been helping these Sunni-Supremacist Islamist's since the early days of the Syrian civil war. Why don't you call the government of Israel a bad actor then? They have also been bombing Syrian Military forces nonstop through out the civil war, the same Syrian government forces that have been fighting ISIS and have ALWAYS fought ISIS. You folks seem to blindly support the Israeli government no matter what. As for me, I say it like it is. I have nothing against the Jewish people, but the current Israeli terrorist supporting government can kiss my ass. And, a lot of us that supported Trump during the election days have been stabbed in the back. He is doing exactly what Hillary was going to do in Syria. I mean no offence, but I'm going to speak my mind on this topic. I also watched the land my family bled and fought for during WW2 only to be destroyed in a pointless civil war which resulted in the deaths of friends and family. So, in my and many others opinion, the current US policy in Syria is no different than what that ISIS/Al-Qaeda supporting whore (Hillary Clinton) had in mind. And these are gonna be my last words on this topic in this thread.

(2) Maxim Buga, a Cossack community leader in the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad, told Reuters Monday that local Vladimir Loginov was among 'dozens' of Russian fighters killed by U.S.-led coalition forces."

(3) Well, this is Putin's fault.

The American commander on the ground said that they called the Russians for THREE HOURS.

Each time, they were told, "Those aren't OUR men."

(4) Do you remember hearing about Mexican army incursions into the American Southwest?

They were riding shotgun for drug smugglers.

The Gulf cartels.

(5) When our pathetically weak presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama spoke to the Mexicans, the Mexicans always said, "Those aren't OUR men. They're just wearing army uniforms."

(6) To me, the answer was SIMPLE:

Blow the absolute hell out of the incursion, and if Mexico bitches, you say, "But you told us those weren't your men!"

(7) And that's what we did with the Russians.

We blew the absolute hell out of them, killing 20 percent of the attacking force.

(8) The Russians said, "Those aren't OUR men. WE can't tell them to stop."

So we sent in AC-130 gunships, Apache gunships, armed drones, and multirole fighters.

(9) After an hour, the Russians called, begging for a ceasefire.

So now Putin knows that we will kill Russians.

(10) What can Putin do?

NOTHING.

His men are useless.

(11) When the Iranians took over the US embassy in Tehran in 1979, US Marines were ordered to LAY DOWN THEIR ARMS.

(12) The Iranians captured British Royal Navy sailors on June 21, 2004, and March 23, 2007.

In both cases, the sailors were ordered to LAY DOWN THEIR ARMS.

Why?

(13) To prevent an "international incident."

Well, the incident HAD ALREADY HAPPENED, instigated by Iran.

(14) The Iranians tried that on Australian sailors, and the Australian commander announced that he would open fire after a countdown from 10.

The Iranians skedaddled.

They never tried to capture Australians again.

(15) Do you think Putin will test Trump again...?

(2) "More than 200 contract soldiers, mostly Russians fighting on behalf of Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad, died in a failed attack on a base held by U.S. and mainly Kurdish forces in the oil-rich Deir Ezzor region, two of the Russians said."

(3) MORE than 200 Russians.

Wow.
(4) Here's how the Russians work it:

Soldiers are FORCED to serve in Syria, but they're "hired" as mercenaries by the Syrian government.
(5) Putin has lost a TON of men in Syria.

This is from November 3, 2016.

Ghost soldiers: the Russians secretly dying for the Kremlin in Syria

The start of this year proved deadly for one unit of about 100 Russian fighters supporting President Bashar al-Assad's troops in northern Syria.
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-midea...SKBN12Y0M6

(6) After invading the Crimea, Putin made it illegal to publish news about Russian military casualties.

This is because half the men serving in Crimea and the Ukraine have been killed.
(7) George W. Bush said that arguing with Putin was like arguing with an eighth grader.

I had the same experience with my former friend, a full colonel in the Russian army.
(8) I was friend with Mikhail for seven years.

He threw it all out the window, even though I begged him repeatedly to stop.
(9) "You're an amazing man," I told him. "Your sense of humor and your skill as a photographer are things I cherish. Why are you trying to destroy our friendship?"
(10) "I'm not trying to destroy our friendship! YOU are! You're a Russophobe! Are you a secret Jew?"
(11) So I had to end it.

Regretfully.

(12) My guess is we killed far MORE than 200 Russians.

We're letting Putin save face.

The US said that they did not engage forces that stayed outside the deconfliction zone.
(13) So I think we wiped out the entire attacking force. All 500 men.

Remember this?

"The Highway of Death" in Kuwait?

(14) Well, we hit the Russians with MULTIPLE AC-130 gunships.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6I4AI6zIz5g

(15) Also Apache gunships, armed drones, and fixed-wing multirole fighters.

Every jet in the area was used.

ALSO artillery fired by the US Marines.

So I think the entire unit was destroyed.
(16) The Russians have NEVER learned how to use tanks.

They do THIS:

The "Russian steamroller."

(17) As a layman, you're thinking THIS:

"Man, that's a GIGANTIC TARGET."

Exactly. When the entire earth is covered with tanks, you can't miss when you fire at them.
(18) The new warfare is the "combined arms micro teams" I talk about.

Each micro team is autonomous.

The Russians have a CENTRALIZED army. All those men in the tanks are waiting for orders.
(19) They're sitting ducks.

This was inevitable. Everyone knew that Putin would test Trump.

So Mattis made sure that there would be only ONE test.

I'm positive that we wiped out the entire force.
(20) The Russians are delusional.

That means they can't be reached through rational discussion. I'm sure they thought that our troops would simply surrender.

Now they know...
