Dr. Berg is on of my favorites!  Lots of good info on his channel...He I think is the one that says,  "You have to get healthy to lose weight" Not the other way around...Not that I need to lose weight but the health effects of a keto way of eating and autophagy are an excellent means to get your body healthy.

Here's one on Autophagy:

Yea, I like Dr Berg, there are a few Americans into health that I like, Berg is one of them. Dr Greger Nutrition Facts I like too, and there is a third guy that has a brilliant website with articles citing research studies, in this moment can't remember his name. Will post some of his when I think of it.

The best health nutrition scientific research in the UK is happening at Norwich University in the UK. So I am recommending that UNI when the discussion comes up. They did the powerful research on the "gut flora" impacting upon the brain.

Here’s a statistic for you

If you make it to ICU there’s a 70% chance you’re not leaving alive

If you do make it out alive there’s an 85% chance you will be dead in 5 years

If that’s not grounds for taking care of yourself I don’t know what is...

They thought my gran was going die every year after the age of 14 with her heart condition, she lived until she was 65. She was an amazing woman for heart research, she even had two heart attacks while giving birth on a bed of ice. Her doctor became a professor in heart surgery in England.

Most modern humans are seriously deficient in vitamin D3. Unless one eats a diet rich in oily fish, we cannot get adequate D3 from diet alone. We evolved the capability to manufacture up to 20,000 IU per day of vitamin D3 from cholesterol in our skin when it is exposed to adequate UV-B radiation from sunlight. Our ancestors evolved in sub-tropical Africa where plenty of UV-B radiation was available each day. Early Modern Humans evolved in the Middle East (Mediterranean) area with seasonal variation and less extreme sun exposure. The skin darkening pigment melanin was evolved to protect against skin damage from excessive sunlight exposure. Unfortunately, it also severely limits vitamin D3 production in temperate climates, where natural vitamin D3 production is seasonal at best.

Virtually every cell in the body has vitamin D3 receptors on its surface. This vitamin is essential for calcium uptake and many other critical functions; reproductive health, DNA repair, immune system response, etc. Vitamin D3 also functions as a regulatory hormone. Shortage of vitamin D3 signals the body to go into preparation to survive severe winter stress. Paleo-humans apparently enjoyed serum levels of vitamin D3, measured as 25-OH(D3), of about 60 nanograms per milliliter (ng/ml). Most modern people now have less than 20 ng/ml serum level. This D3 shortage (deficiency) interferes significantly with calcium metabolism (causing hardening of the arteries instead of bones) and signals the building-up of fat stores for the coming winter by slowing metabolic rates.

I recommend about 10,000 to 15,000 IU/day of routine supplementation with vitamin D3 for almost everyone--more if cancer, heart disease, injury recovery, or other health problems are being experienced. I personally maintain serum levels of 80 to 120 ng/ml year around by moderate sunbathing and supplementation. The vitamin D3 is not expensive, and the needed blood tests are affordable and quite accurate now. The medical establishment warns excessively about vitamin D3 toxicity and purposely rigs vitamin D clinical trials to fail. They are really concerned about the loss of profits which would occur with an "outbreak of good health" if people maintained adequate D3 levels.

Yes, vitamin D is needed for calcium to be utilized by the body. BUT it is useless in the absence of Vitamin K-2 in the form of MK-7. To see how this works, fast forward to the 8:18 mark in the following vid..

There's a lot of other benefits to using MK-7 that are explained in the vid and well worth watching...

Although if you have found previous threads on The Fringe helpful, you could also post a link to this thread, as we have had some brilliant threads posted by others.

"Knee Arthritis and Your Mouth Bacteria".

For that matter KOMMA, take a look at the correlation between mouth/gum disease and heart disease. The two are linked. So take care of your mouth, teeth and gums, otherwise you might have heart disease.

Thanks for mentioning this; D3 is the important 'D' in bone issues, as well. I get mine (3000 units) from Progressive Labs; this ensures it's the 'real deal'. Goes hand in hand with the M.C.H.C. with K2 and K3, which I also take. They all work together. I expect there will be improvement in my bone density test next time, and I've noticed some good changes in my dental bone, as well. Sometimes it's not just enough to take a supplement, it matters how the supplement was processed. This is why you waste your money buying 'over the counter' from Walmart. So little value.

It's especially important in the wintertime when the body doesn't get enough light and sun to the body.

Although it was so warm and sunny yesterday, I could've sat outside in my garden chair if I hadn't been shopping.

My dad used to sit in the sun in the wintertime, all dressed up in warm clothes. If the sun was out, he was in it.
