I wouldn't really call my self a truck driver per say, but I've driven a truck or two cross country.

I've driven trucks on/off for years.
My leg can no longer take using a clutch all day without causing pain so I don't drive much these days.

European trucks are much easier for me to drive than American trucks.
European trucks are designed with the driver in mind. American trucks are designed with the boss in mind. The clutches are ridiculously stiff.

The Iveco makers have the right idea. They are so comfortable to drive whether one is 6'6" or a short-arse. Huge cabins compared to a Mack.
The last one I drove had a 650hp Cummins engine & an 18-speed RR. Difference was was that it had an air assisted clutch that was a dream to use.

Occasionally I help out my old boss, driving a 10-speed Mack tipper. The clutch set-up was changed to lighten it making it much easier for me to drive.
A lot of drivers aren't able to adapt to the 350 10-speed Mack. The 18-speed Mack is much easier to drive. I love a challenge & can drive anything.
