To WE THE PEOPLE, there is nothing more important than constitutional issues, and nothing that should take precedence over constitutional law.

@T-Dub I'm not sure that direct relevancy to myself is an issue. As a human being though I am concerned and effected by the world in which I reside. In the era of the internet the world is a much more global community and on a geo-political level the US carries much influence in that world. I am concerned with the values its citizens hold and certainly with the way their education system functions.

Education is in my opinion one of the most important discussions we can have. In every country. Educational institutions should be precious spaces in our communities where students feel protected and able to freely question and gain knowledge.

I'm not sure I would feel comfortable turning up to an armed lecture.  I'm sure there are many Americans who feel the same way.

Not really.

Freedom or control freak legislation?

The Constitution and Bill of Rights provide the former.

Abusive morons with agendas provide the latter.

You may be fine in your gated community and enjoy the ever more oppressive cradle to grave nanny government control but not all of us have that luxury. We have to live out here in the real world where crime happens and when the intruder is in the house and seconds count, the police are minutes away.

If you were in a room where some people may be armed - would like to be one of them (armed) - or would you want to be defenceless?

UC Berkley is an ideal place for you to feel comfortable attending a lecture on free speech.

Strip out shitholes like Chicago who labor under Democrat gun control laws and the rest of the US starts looking like the rest of the civilized world when it comes to firearm deaths per capita.

I have been to dozens and dozens of gun shows where almost everyone is armed and guns and ammo laying everywhere. Not once did I ever feel threatened, even when I was unarmed. As a plus side I have never heard of any mass shootings or a robbery at one either.
