They used to be called busybodies and pearl clutchers and those old prudes who used to tisk tisk at people kissing and holding hands. Iran has something like the moral police who go around harassing women for wearing their hijabs too loose or something like that. Leftists used to be cool now they are the moral busybodies of today just like the Christian Right used to be.

So some of those folks filming were being assholes. Not saying they didn't have a point. Am saying that you aren't scoring any points for the good guys when you are being a jerk. (I find that out often enough with being a jerk)
What stores were those? It IS true you don't have to provide papers stating your medical condition. The managers or shift supervisors were wrong. Especially the ones who let the people get all their shopping done with no mask. Or even enter the store to begin with, then tell them at checkout that they can't pay and go. That is to make a point with inconviencing someone to make sure they learned their lesson, not to keep anyone safe. Now they have ti thriw away any and all food that was in the cart under assumption that it is contaminated. If was manager or general manager....assuming those were shift managers in the videos...anyway, I would be PISSED at the waste in a time when there is a "supply chain disruption" and food can't be wasted. Yeah right. They would rather waste it and prove their point. Sickening.

I agree. That chubby guy stating he woke up in a free country was annoying. It states right as you walk into Costco that you have the wear a mask. He lives in a free country so he is free to go shop somewhere else. There store, their policy.

I know that some feel wearing a mask is a form of submission. It could be but in a society where there is so many things infringing on our freedom that sometimes it comes down to picking your battles.

Let them force you to wear a mask now and later it's a hijab.

I'm glad they're picking a battle over the masks.

I think many of the store owners and companies are looking at it from a liability stand-point. Locally if a worker gets sick it is a workers comp claim. But if a company can prove they enforced social distancing, sanitizing and enforcing masks, it may cut down their liability if none of the others get sick. The CDC says masks so I can understand from a business aspect. Some states are declaring people need to wear masks and practice social distancing. Those businesses that have decided to ignore the state have had their business licenses revoked.

I was at pet-smart a few days ago and none of the employees I saw were wearing masks or gloves.
I started joking with the fish girl about where to find little masks for the fish or if the new filter was good enough.
Then a woman in mask stopped at the end of the aisle and gave me what I assume was a dirty look but she didn't say anything.

Remember most people who wear masks when they don't have to are idiots who drive their cars while wearing them and go jogging or biking while wearing masks. Unless the person is elderly or disabled a mask on young healthy looking person in most cases signifies they are boot licking authoritarian idiot. Yeah3

Masks aren't negating workers comp claims. I dare any company to try that should an employee contract sars cov 2 and develop covid 19. They would be hard pressed to prove that masks block any form of communicable disease let alone one which is .14 microns. I've watched people walking around with their noses hanging out and seen old broads with doilies on their face. In fact, I triple dog dare an employer on a workers comp claim.

States can encourage mask wearing, but they cannot constitutionally mandate it. THAT is why Wolf dances around the question each time he is asked. He doesn't want to publically admit he is NOT able to mandate anything. Bills would have to be drawn, voted on, passed, and signed for that to happen. That hasn't happened. Governors think they can just make laws as they go along, for some odd reason, but they're in the wrong branch of gov't. They seem to have forgotten their place.

State or not, infringement of rights is what this is and more need to join the battle. Just because a state is trampling rights that doesn't make it legal.

Know your rights people and don't take shit from Karen or Tison.

A "policy" can be enforced in a private business, HOWEVER a "policy" in a PUBLIC building is NON ENFORCABLE unless a state statue sign (with the statue on the sign) is posted. In other words, in a PUBLIC building you can film the state lazy assed employees inflicting tyranny on the rest of the public. "No cell phones" is just a POLICY in a public building and cannot be LAWFULLY enforced.
