There are several links to people listed on the linked page. Pretty interesting because when you click on them, it takes you to vimeo and you get the message that the video no longer exists. Guess they scrubbed all of those vids.

Obviously they are opposed to sufficient vowel content in proper nouns.
When there is a right path and a wrong path, choosing neither or hiding behind a cloak of neutrality is the same thing as choosing the wrong path.

Really sad Oxenberg's daughter got caught up in that fracas. Goreans remind me of Quebec Raelians and all that sci fi cult weirdness but with an added sex slave tangent. TBTG got outed

That's what this cult reminds me of -goreans Eyeroll At one time, you couldn't go into any rpg without them trying to bully their way in and make you play by their rules.
I don't remember the news site, but there were pics of the brands used by Nxvim. They were the letter 'k'. In gorean lore, slaves were called kajira-and branded with a 'k'. Scream1
ETA: I was going to copy the pics of the brands on this thread when I saw them but the site was a headache to load.

I saw an analysis on another forum wherein those letters apparently coincide with Runes (which I know nothing about). If you read/interpret those runes together, it means something like "give me all of your cares."

Don't know whether that's what this group intended, but that was an interesting analysis. From all that I've read, it seems like Raniere used a combination of different cult-ish philosophies, like calling those who opposed them "suppressives" which is apparently a Scientology term.

Here's the pic you were looking for (from the Times Union):

Most articles I've read seem to think that the branding is a combo of Keith and Allison's initials. I had never heard of the group you mentioned, but that certainly makes sense since they equate "K" with Karjira/Slave.

I can't imagine the hell those women endured, nor the evil of the people who did it/held down the victims/watched in silence.

I didn't know of the Raelians either. With all this new info up here, it really does make me think this group is a mix and match of other groups that went before them.

There was, back in the 6's and 70's,a series of sci fi fantasy novels based on a fictional planet. On this planet, women were kept as slaves, though there were many women who weren't.
With the advent of the internet, this fantasy world went online with many chat sites devoted to it. It got so bad, that other fantasy roleplays were taken over by it. PITA Eyeroll
They call/ed themselves Goreans but they weren't really secret. Idk if the books are still in print or not.
Slaves were branded in the books,in chat and in some unfortunate cases, offline. I heard a few of the horror stories.
BTW,the author of the books,John Norman, has been known to say he wrote them as a direct result of the feminist movement.
Weird people.

I was just going to say, someone took the Chronicles of Gor too seriously.

John Norman is still alive and writing the novels. He's a libertarian, and never gave support to the "Gor cults".

Okay, now check this out. In October, 2007, New York magazine ran this piece which connects Roger Stone (yes, THAT Roger Stone) with NXIVM.
Article here: http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/200...ike_o.html

A couple of highlights:
  • A couple of days ago, the Post broke the news that Roger Stone — a former state GOP functionary who resigned after allegedly threatening Eliot Spitzer’s family — was procuring money for Joe Bruno and pals from his other employer, a cultlike organization called NXIVM.
  • Stone, paid by NXIVM, had funneled at least $20,000 to the state GOP; the heirs to Seagram’s fortune are devotees; and, per the Post, Richard Mays — a Clinton friend and one of Hillary’s top fund-raisers — is an “Espian” as well, having taken so-called intensive classes with Raniere.
