My Letter to MP Jacob Rees-Mogg...
#1
To Member of Parliament Jacob Rees-Mogg:

Dear Jacob,

With much respect and admiration of your views and statements over the last two or more years, I am a little disappointed of your lack of aspirations/ambitions to lead your party and our country towards a proper "BREXIT", even though you are single-handedly the most qualified person to take advantage of the wonderful opportunity that leaving the EU with no detrimental compromises would offer.

At this point we need a "Statesman" of the quality of at least Margaret Thatcher who, while I was not ecstatic with much of her policies at the time, I was impressed by and proud to have her as our representative and political leader at that time.

David Davis is not that "Statesman" nor would be Boris Johnson, Michael Gove or any of the others you mentioned during your announcement of having put in your letter of "No Confidence" - You are!

I was initially happy that Teresa May took the lead of the party that was in governance as I believed her when she said "Brexit means Brexit, Leave means Leave and we have to deliver on the Democratic vote." - I no longer believe that she meant that or will deliver it.

There is no opening, at this time, for a leadership challenge, I understand that. If such a time or opportunity availed within the next few months I ask that you put your "name in the hat" and I'm seriously considering creating an online petition to "drag" you in to that position - kind of like the "Write-In" option in US elections or the symbolic election of a "Speaker of The House".

The "negotiation" - not that we voted for that, we voted to leave - should have, from the beginning, been us offering the EU nothing but a "No Deal" (WTO rules) or, "If you want to offer us a Zero Tariff FTA that will avoid having to activate the WTO article (24 I think?) which only gives us two years of such agreement, we would consider the terms of such an offer."

In such, we would have put the EU on the "back-foot" and such a negotiation can still happen with the correct leader, which would be someone who believes in leaving the EU and is not 'political career ambitious' (like Gove) but 'ambitious to ensuring democracy' does not suffer potentially irreversible damage = YOU!

I live in Leicester South so you are not my MP, but the purpose of this letter is not to change anything in my Council but to change the direction of this country and confidence of this country's people in democratic processes where the people decide what should be done, not Parliament.

I urge you sir, with all respect, to consider the UK wide popularity and respect you have garnered in recent years and in such consider putting your name forward to lead us through this time and in to the future.

I have never voted "Tory" before, but with you at the helm I would.

Further things that you could run on which, I believe would win an election landslide for the Conservatives, would be some of the things David Cameron "promised" before the Scottish Referendum on UK membership. The English are not ignorant of the fact that we have no independent representation, as we are only represented by the whole British Parliament while the other countries have devolved assemblies and parliaments etc. (Including London).

A devolved system for England, a review of "First Past the Post" electoral processes, and a move to a WRITTEN constitution and Bill of Rights, I believe, would unite our Nation and solidify a National conservatism that would lead to another ten years of Tory governance if they/you deliver what was promised in such a manifesto.

I have many more opinions and ideas to change the ways that things have always been done toward a more modern and inclusive method of governance, but I shall spare you the "waffle" as I appreciate your time is limited and I would prefer that you read and absorb that which I ask/suggest here and truly hope you will act upon this, so I don't have to make a viral attempt to "Write you In" and "Drag" you to the front-line of this Nation's future.

Much deep respect and hope,

Yours sincerely,

REDACTED.

P.S. I intend to share this letter on http://www.the-fringe.com, with my friends,a small community of conservative/libertarian members, who while mostly American are interested in and supportive of BREXIT.

An automatic response - which I will not share as it said not to - said Rees-Mogg can't get involved in other constituencies (not asking him to) and may not reply to all correspondence...

I just want him to read it and think on it - don't need a reply!

I support Brexit. The European Union was a Nazi idea. Then there is no representation by population in the E.U. The committee seems to appoint one person to be President with no voting, well he was the only one running. Apparently the committee spends $50 million U.S. a day on meals, tips, and hotels. That's outlandish. I hope things work out for you guys.
