I wish they would stop coming up with reasons for these kids to stay with mum n dad, it’s not normal nor healthy.

They have to come off the tit sometime...

21K BPS ($40K US) for that piece of shit is absurd though.

Sure, it looks nice, but honestly, you can buy a 200 sq ft shed for $2500 and finish the interior for another $5000 and make a primo living space. There are tons of people building Man Caves out of them.

Home Depot has a 12 x 12 Western Red Cedar Shed for $5800.  or an 8x12 for $4400.  That's a little over $10K for $240 sq feet with room for modular add ons.  Pour some concrete footers, add some solar panels, insulate with foam, wire up the LED lights, and get a composting toilet.

$20 grand all in you live quite comfortably, as long as you have the property, and neighbors that mind their business.

Get a proper septic and manage your own waste. You will not last long with a composting toilet in a small or tiny home...

I have experimented and I have experimented doing it properly... Not slapped together.

2 words ... lingering stench.

But you'll never know until you try... Now go do that Doo Doo that you do so weelllllllllll!!!

Or...for roughly just get a 1-3 bedroom mobile home and rent the lot for an average of roughly $700 a month (including the mortgage for the trailer). You can rent the trailer and lot for even cheaper in some places.

Maybe we need Mobile Home communities for millennials.

If I had a large patch of land, I'd create one.

Trust me, I would build an outhouse before I used a composting toilet. I have no desire to dry shit in my house, even though my diet makes my turds smell delightful, and my collection of flower petals instead of toilet paper is heavenly. Yeah3

I live in a house, will proper sanitation. I have no true desire to live in a tiny home. But to each their own

You know the irony of the situation, is I live in Florida, and we have tons of mobile home communities. However, they are all 55+ communities. They are extremely affordable, yet most have automobiles parked in front that cost more than the homes, and are winter homes for the snow birds. so many of these communities are about 20% occupied for 6-8 months out of the year, and can not even be subleased to anyone under 55.

Therefore, the cost of apartments climbs because 2nd home ownership, and deed restrictions make it impossible to find housing

Funny.....the "millennial" issues are not only attributed to humans.

I have 12 former "baby" birds that are hanging around on the shed roof. They refuse to leave and are there several times a day just hanging out looking in the kitchen window at me while I'm working. When I look up at them, they fly off. (Social skills aren't developed either apparently.)
