I just finished a 6 hole flute, inspired by traditional native american design. This is tuned to G4. It was a pretty good challenge to me, getting it all to fit well, sound accurately and be in tune. I loved it!

thatis an awesome skill

I don'thave that level of skill

I always thought it would be cool to make Irish penny whistles....and never made one

I think I could make a good mouth piece cause I can carve pretty well....but the drilling and measuring of the copper pipe?....I just never did it

I can barely walk across a parking lot without gasping for air so it's not like I could ever fluently test my creations....i have breathing problems...COPD

lmao

my mother in law wants me to make a youtube channel and show how I make my spoons and other carvings

nope

for one...I am as photogenic as an outhouse

for two...the methods I use are well documented on youtube....lots of folks do it the same way I do...I do nothing special

I love my mother in law....she is a very positive thinker...she has those signs up about dreaming and stuff in her house....she is a wonderful lady

I would love to give her something special before she leaves this world...she is my special adopted mom.....but me being a famous carver is not going to be one of those things

If you make it, that would be enough.
I am with you on selling work or doing youtube. A jillion other folks already have. If someone likes what I made, and uses it? Paydirt!

Wow, amazing work! I would love teach myself to make something like that. This may sound like a stupid question from a noob but how did you tune it to G4?

Thats a beautiful flute.

The stuff I build is purely functional. Few people will see the beauty in it, but they all like a heated house and hot tap water... Chuckle
