I will start

I just finished a 6 hole flute, inspired by traditional native american design. This is tuned to G4. It was a pretty good challenge to me, getting it all to fit well, sound accurately and be in tune. I loved it!

But you fish....I bet you make good baits..I bet you make lots of things you don't think are special

My making has already been discussed

I like to make utilitarian things...useful things...it makes me happy

I don't do a lot of artwork though I have made a few pieces.

my art is stylized realism....take a thing and exaggerate it's characteristics...a fish or a bird....I don't do it very often

why? Because I get more reward from someone actually using and enjoying a thing I make than I do from someone saying "wow that is a really cool bird you carved"

I like making things people actually use every day....to me that is like top notch....I am a part of your life every day

This is phase 1 of some of my recent stone work. Phase two I hope to have finished by early to mid Feburary.
The water eroded areas will be stone inlays to make a dry brook that the wall morphs into and it trails off and branches into three directions, following the natural water flow down the yard. I'm excited to get it finished.

My mother in law is so funny....she thinks I am some sort of artist...like I'll be famous one day

"you should be marking all of the stuff you make cause they are wonderful"

nah...not really....I think she spends too much time blowing smoke and watching goofy TV shows

I like to make things people use....that is my reward.

I make spoons that will not break when stirring cookie dough

how cool is that?

I make dough cutters that the dough does not stick to

I make serving spoons that serve a dish...a serving....my mashed potatoes spoons is a serving...plop....that is a serving of mashed potatoes.....two plops and you are a fat assed hog and should be ashamed of yourself...nah...just kidding

My passion is to make useful things that people actually use.....fame and fortune are not and have never been a thing for me

and I'm really not that good!...the wife and mother in law act like it's art or something....

no...it's just useful

for me, making useful things is a need...I do it for my psychological health.....it is not for money or fame or fortune or notoriety
