Fuck the money.  I made a lot of it over my lifetime, and now it doesn't mean jack shit to me.

There are more important things like family, time for yourself, fucking off when ever you feel like it, and drinking whiskey.

They put the rich motherfuckers in a hole in the ground, just like they will for me.

Retire TODAY.

No can do... lol. The attractive feature is that I now work from my home office.

No more travel.

What's the part time job? And, GOOD FOR YOU!

I thought I could retire after my b'day next may (65), but due to recent reduction in income from my better half, I might have to put that on hold for a bit. Makes me ill, as the company I've been at for 13 years (14 in Jan) has gone to SHIT with Lean Mfg, layoffs and everyone now is doing things they weren't hired for to help get orders out the door (we were sold by the orig owner 8 years ago and purchased by a huge company). One of my co-workers said about my boss "She always walks around with a look of horror on her face..." This makes it doubly hard to stay there.

My financial guy at Edward Jones encourages me to work until I'm 70 as then I'll never have to work again. In the mean time, I'm missing out on being HOME. The first home I ever purchased, 7 years ago, which as you can imagine means a whole lot to me at this stage of the game.

If I can find a decent paying part time job, that would be OK. I've got PLENTY of old hobbies that have fallen by the wayside.

Guitar (sitting unused for nearly 30 years)
Sewing
Crafting
CLEANING the house (you'd had to have grown up in my Mothers home)
Volunteering
Road trips

Just hang in there, and it will come.

I think that many today expect to be able to retire young.
If you can do it, I say good for you, and I mean that.

When I was young, I chose a career that was "manly" at the time.  As the years went by, I realized that nobody gave a fuck what I did, but was too proud to pursue something different.

As it turned out, I made a good living for 45 years at my job, stayed healthy due to working outdoors in a tough environment, and was able to pick up a pretty good pension from the company.  This, combined with my Social Security, and what I make on the side(cash only) has worked out really for me.  One good part is that I could do without the "side money" and be just fine.

Thanks for writing all that man, I’m 32 and still trying to figure it all out Heartflowers

Semi retired here too, I get paid by the job now, $40.00 per job x 10/day = $ then there`s the out of town stuff. That = big $$$ - bloated expenses. add to that my limitless Hazmat gigs Chuckle close but less than 60 y/o here

No disrespect, and not to be a Debbie Downer, but at 32, you've got a long way to go if you're working for a living.

Try to find something where you can make big money fast. Just don't make it by fucking you fellow human being over.

I remember when I was in my 30's. Life was good, no bad knees from climbing, no divorce(yet), a great couple of kids, and an eye on the pie in the sky.

Relax, and let it be the best time of your life.............because it is.
