'If they want a white doctor say no' Gov says
#1

Facepalm

It's not about "racism", with some of the doctors you can't understand a word they say due to English not being their first language. That's why people ask for a white doctor, what they should ask for is someone that speaks proper English. So for instance in recent weeks I saw a GP, couldn't understand what he was saying, so had to read my own results from my x-rays myself on his computer and ask for a print out of it.

He didn't even try to explain the results and what it meant. I saw my English white chiropractor afterwards, and he went through each sentence point, by point and he explained what had been written in the results. That's the difference.

Some of them are very dismissive of people's concerns and ailments too. Unless you require urgent surgery, the consultants are just not interested.

I asked for an MRI scan report to be sent to my English Indian GP and we were told by the foreign consultant that my GP and I wouldn't understand.

I took it to the complaint service PALS, and asked them to stop consultants insulting the intelligence of my GP.

That's deplorable, @KOMMA. We have the same issues
in the States and it's just as you say. Too many of the
Chinese/South East Asian/Indian docs can't speak
English properly
.

Communication between doctor and patient being paramount,
it's an abject neglect of patient care.

Outrageous how your system is more concerned about its
docs' "feels" than it is the well-being of its patients.

The first thing I noticed was they have comments turned off on YouTube. A cowardly thing to do. Here in the States it is also getting harder and harder to find an American doctor. Last year I asked my dental office to change my dentist to the white male because I could not understand a word the Korean dentist said to me and they did it.

Last week I had a call from my cardiologists office to tell me my white cardiologist was no longer with the practice. My choices to replace him were either two Indians a Doctor with the last name "Islam" or a black woman doctor I had met once in the hospital.

I asked for the black woman doctor to take over my care because I like her and she is an American who speaks perfect American English. My primary care doctor is half white and half Korean and he is an American who also speaks with the local American accent he was raised in America. I like having him as my primary care doc.

When it comes to doctors I want them to be competent and speak so I can understand them. So now I am a racist if I complain I can't understand a word my doctor says?
"White Nationalist" is code for "White person".

This is another thing you have to blame on Government regulation. The US overregulates the Medical schools and makes them so expensive, and makes becoming a doctor so hard, that you wind up with a guy that went to medical school in India.

It's mainly the middle eastern doctors that most elderly people have an issue with in the UK, they just can't understand what they're saying. Also some of the Indian doctors speak too softly for them to hear.

We used to have what is called the "bedside manner" with our white English doctors, although even some of those don't have the "Bedside manner" anymore.

With appointments being restricted 10 minutes with GPs and 15-20 minutes with consultants, they spend most of that time asking questions, looking at their computers, and if your lucky you will get a five minute examination, then the patient is rushed out of the door, while the nurses stand there looking totally embarrassed by the consultants treatment of their patients.

One of the consultants asked me what did in during my work life, the nurse was impressed, the consultant just huffed and puffed because he couldn't write down that I was a 'couch potato" sitting in front of a TV all day. They really get the hump when I tell them I first started getting a back issue whilst in the gym Chuckle They can't say that I didn't exercise during my life. Then you should see their faces when I tell them about my work with nutrition, and growing my own food. They then can't blame any condition on lifestyle choices that they like to do. Chuckle Also when I tell them what the medical profession did to me when I was younger, they can't get rid of me quick enough.

Earlier today, I composed an email to the Health Minister about what he has said on TV, the email was returned due to their being an election. So at present we don't have a Health Minister, although he provided an address to email him on, and then that gmail email address wasn't accepted.

Indeed it's nothing to do with colour or race. It's about the spoken language and competence.

When I had an operation in 2016, I chose a black English guy over an Eastern European. (I think she was eastern European), I rejected the first consultant because she was planning to operate on me and yet did not even examine me. So I asked for the consultant surgeon to be changed. When I asked for the change, my surgeon that had referred me to the hospital said it wasn't the first time that someone had asked for a change of consultant. I just didn't trust her, but trusted my English black guy. I told him, I trust you, I didn't trust her. He gave me the biggest smile, it made him so happy, that I had chosen him. Before I went in for surgery he was laughing, joking with my friend and I.

Patients have to be able to trust their doctors, it is our bodies not theirs.

The thing about the Indian medical profession is that if they were trained in India, their culture is different to ours, and as far as I am aware, only the wealthy can train as doctors in India. So some of them tend to have a superior attitude. Although that often applies to people with degrees, even social workers think they're superior to poor families.

In India, they have different diseases to contend with and some western health conditions they don't get in India, so how can Indian medical training ever be appropriate for western civilisation.
