She races to me now when I am still in the house walking to the door. A couple days ago she was right in my face ( The top of the wall is that hieght) and she was gently taking the pistachio's from my fingers and she suddenly stopped..and for the first time turned her head and looked at me with both eyes and did a squirrel bark and then a squeaky purr.. It was unusual but seemed she was telling me something, but what?

We sat there and I would try to immitate her each time she did it to me..maybe twenty times..

Then she ran to the tree and was hanging face down and did that Hitler gesture she always does with her left arm outstretched and sort of waved her arm in that extended reach position and cupped her paw, then she pulled that arm down and simultaneously wrapped her right arm across her chest like someone in a sling postion!?

I'll figure out what it means eventually.. She does this alot. I'll try to get video. It definitely  is some kind of squirrel communication..

Actually..This time I did it first and that's when she went through these gestures, basically answering me or whatever.. It was just more animated this time, plus, that right arm wrap across her chest was new for me to witness.

I think she wants you to host a baby shower for her.

Welll... Chuckle

I just found out she is registered here.

She is getting a little too comfy around me the last few days..I may refrain from being so nice while she deals with gorging her pregnant bod. She followed me all over the place today and it felt like she was going to jump on me..I was giving off nervous energy..

I was like, shit girl..yoo is scarin' me... Scream1 Chuckle

@Mmmkay_Ultra I imagine you are familiar with Beatrix Potter's
tales ("Peter Rabbit" is probably her most famous creation).

Thought you might enjoy this online reproduction of "The Tale of
Squirrel Nutkin," complete with illustrations (her work now in the
public domain):  Heartflowers

I think she is one of the baby squirrels I rescued from my dog a few years ago that were hiding in a rain gutter. She actually was the initiator of our friendly relationship when she was about a year old. I did not see her for over a year after our first season of her being very tame with me and was worried she  might have been killed by a human who she may have approached but she found me earlier this year in the back yard as I was taking pics of new terracing I had completed next door..

ANYHOO...She clearly has a bot fly situation going on in her left shoulder.

Does anyone know if it is possible for me to treat her to help her get through it?

She comes to me like a puppy looking for a treat, so nabbing her would be easy.

Squirrels are so cute! I love how fast they move around - so agile.

I had to look up what a bot fly is. OMG. Disgusting. How common are they? Is it rare to be in humans? We've started to have mosquitoes here (some Asian import that doesn't need standing water - horrible) ... and apparently that how these eggs get inside?

They attach their eggs to a mosquito and the mosquitoes transmit them into the host. So watch out for mosquitoes!
