I was thinking about installing a fence around my property.  It would be expensive because of the acreage but, that and no trespassing signs would send the message to anyone thinking about visiting us uninvited.

Get a big dog once the fence is complete. That will stop nearly anyone from trying to come in. Drinks

Yes, I was thinking about a "Junk Yard Dog". They are not receptive to unwanted visitors. I'm not going to install 7 foot tall chain link with razor wire. Just a 4 point barbwire fence marking the property boundaries, ranch style. And a few signs. There have been a few assholes that come up here (from phoenix) in the winter to snow mobile. They think it is OK to run through peoples property while hauling ass on their Polaris snow mobiles. Not. We take a dim view of this.

A friend of mine has a HUGE rottweiler that he's trying to rehome. He's moving and can't take the guy with him. He's still young, but he's the biggest rottie I've ever seen. Blackest black imaginable too, beautiful dog. He's friendly to boot. I'd take him in a heartbeat if I didn't have a dog already. Besides, I have to start getting ready for that "bucket list" trip and bringing in new pets isn't a good way to get started lol.

My step son has a german shepherd he got from an animal shelter. He looks like Rin Tin Tin! He spent the summer with us a couple times now, and we don't see any coons coming around at all. We can leave the garage door open, whatever, and they are a no show! He loves to sleep outside, and if he hears anything, he barks. Very good natural guard dogs! V6sRZf4

Rottweilers are excellent dogs. A friend has one. Nice dog and very protective of his children. As far as these trespassers are concerned, I have gone out to stop them. Made them stop and turn off their engines. I told a couple of them; "you see that road to the east? Do you see the road down to the south? Do you see the road to the west? And do you see the road to the North? Good, I'm glad you see those roads. Every bit of property between these roads is my property". I own this property. GTFO and do not waste any time. Sheesh.....

That Shepherd will rip coons a new one. This sounds like Al the Aussie, our protector and mighty fine alarm system. We handsomely reward her for her services.
