The battle of King's Mountain is sometimes called the first Civil War .

Really something your family lineage, @WhiteAngel.
I have long admired those with such ancestry, and
been intrigued by their unique American experience.

I would be interested to know the count or even
approximation of such living descendants, if one
exists.

.... or Jefferson Davis. I'll take either.

I could file for DAR 12 different ways - proven blood lines - but just never have bothered. My two 1st cousins have done so for DAR and SAR. Maybe one day.

And my family prolly served them all drinks at their tavern in Philadelphia ~ they were up and running before the Revolutionary War ~ and, from the lack of inheritance, I'm sure they ran it about the same as I do the C&B. Chuckle

I have admired that type of ancestry as well. Most of my family was still pulling plows and working the fields in Russia during that time period. I sometimes wonder if they ever heard of America or got any outside information at all. A very few were city dwellers whose transit to a different life had been paid for with hard labor by the rest of them. Its so interesting to me that people have long familial roots in the country they are living in. That's something I'm not personally familiar with.

Mom's side of the Family has been on this continent since the middle 1600's . She qualified DAR , DUV and UDC . No great Patronage to claim , but been here all along . One of Dad's forebearers is in the big Driving of the Golden Spike picture . Only man standing alone .
