Happy Patriot's Day ~ Monday April 16th
#1
The third Monday in April is set aside to honor the first Patriots of our country.

Lest we forget ~ those first heroes and patriots that threw off the yoke of tyranny cast the mold for our struggle today, and every day, to be free.

The Lexington Minute Man statue is of Captain John Parker, who died at 46 ~ five months after orders to his men that echo resolutely through the years.

Thank you, Minute Men, the first patriots, all.

Funny I was just thing about an WWII movie, "Wake Island". I would recommend that folks watch this if you have not. Sure there is some propaganda in it but it reflects the way then US was back then. My dad was a Marine in the Pacific back then.

Used to eat at this Indian restaurant, usually sat in the window so I could look out on Lexington Green.

You dad is still a badass!

Thanks for that. My dad has been dead for quite sometime but he was indeed the real deal.

The battle of King's Mountain is sometimes called the first Civil War .
