Gun owners stockpile ammo before new California background check law begins

Even if you reload, what about bullets, powder, primers?
I think its good advice to have at least 1000 rounds of ammo for every weapon you have. Shooting is an expensive SPORT. I try and watch the sales, you can save big money sometimes if you do that.

I bought all that stuff with a Lee press and dies when the MSM told Hildabeast was going to win.

30 rounds of 7mm mag are around $30 here in NorCal. Yikes! Better make sure your enemies are lined up 10 deep!

Or PDJT could sign an EO rescinding every anti-gun law back to and including GCA '68. Yeah, I know...

How do we get his attention on this matter?

You probably will not get his attention on this. From before Day #1,
California has told DJT to kiss off. Cali has a super majority in their
State House and State Senate for the Dems. Not even going to point out
the Governors.
Most of the Federal level Reps & Senators from Cali are ding a lings.
POTUS will not even ask the Senators for their 2 cents on selecting
judges any longer.
Sometimes you just have to write off bad checks and move on to other
things you can reasonably expect to fix with limited time and resources.

At some point im going to make the investment to reload.

At the very least, buy one Lee Hand loader for your main battle piece
and one Lee Hand loader for your favorite handgun you plan to carry
with you should the SHTF.
Simply pick up some of the (real) brass you fired as they will fit your
firearm like a glove. Get 2 tubes of powder. One for the handgun, one
for the rifle. If they both shoot the same (i.e. 38 special or 9mm), then
one will do. Some primers to fit and they are the weak link in this chain.
Followed by pre cast bullets. Also, feel free to pick up hand held molds.
Small, inexpensive, easy. Lots of lead about you can re-purpose.

Yes. I subscribe to 1,000 rounds minimum stored for your main battle piece.

Note: This post is for general reading; not just preaching at you, @Highlander

Spend a little money and buy a good book that lists several brands of powder and how much of each to use. Even in a shtf you'll still have your printed copy.

I have different powder dispensers for each caliber so I can leave them set once dialed in.

If you like fiddling with stuff you'll like reloading. I think it's relaxing.

If you get into reloading, it might cost you some money to get set up. The small one piece at
a time works fine. This picture shows a .30-.06 rifle kit. Get one for your handgun. They sell
for about $35 each. One day, I watched TV and loaded about 5 rounds in an hour slowly.
