"Family values" Repubicans Launch Plot to Kick over 3M kids off free lunch.
#1
The phrase "no such thing as a free lunch" just got more realistic for over 3 million kids.

While the bathroom bill seems to be the topic of the day everywhere, this little gem is getting swept under the rug.

Remember, anytime republicans have some sort of controversial bill, they use it to push a much worse bill while everyone is distracted.

"If the new amendments proposed by House Republicans are enacted, tens of millions of low-income children throughout the country – many of whom have no other reliable source of food – will be left with unhealthy, low-quality and prohibitively expensive school lunches while schools themselves will continue to be burdened with the academic and behavioral issues associated with poverty, hunger, and low nutrition. And they have the audacity to claim that “The reforms in this legislation will allow states and schools to better serve their students and families.”

Of course.. the republican mantra is poor=lazy. Well that isn't the kids fault!

This is all sorts of fucked up.

This is perhaps the most idiotic thing I've heard in a long time.

Taking my own town for example, we had a factory, one of the biggest in the area, employing over 3,000 people at $16-$18/hr.

It folded around 2005, and tons of families sought work elsewhere, but most of them could only find min wage jobs.

I know at least a dozen of them who now work at Walmart, McDonalds, and Kmart, because that's all they could find.

They had house payments, car payments, etc, and many of them had to end up selling/forecloseing their homes and having their cars repoed because they went from making $32,000 a year, to making $12,000 a year in a blink of an eye.

Many of them had kids.

So your argument is, "if you can't feed them don't breed them". Well that isn't always the case, and is a stupid blanket statement. Lots of people in my area fell on hard times, and 90% of them was due to no fault of their own, but rather greedy corporations.

Also...when I went to school, kids were actually teased/bullied for bring their own lunch from home. It was considered highly "uncool" to bring your own lunch.

But that's fine, you didn't seem to make any protest when your tax dollars went to bail out large banks, auto manufactures, etc.

I guess poor/homeless mothers who get raped or have to prostitute for a living should just use a coat hanger if they become pregnant. Fuck the poor, amiright?

Did the factory fold? Or did they move those jobs over seas so that they could pay some poor Chinese kid a couple of bucks a day, if that, to make the same product at a much higher profit margin?

And who gives a shit about what's cool in highschool dude? People need to understand, although I know that it's hard for children to, that highschool is insignificant in the long run!

So yes, if your bum ass can't pay for your children then stop fucking. I can understand and actually support free lunches but at the end of the day it's the enormous amount of dead beat parents who fuck this up for people struggling for legitimate reasons. Having numerous kids from multiple baby daddies isn't a legitimate reason tbqh!
