Japan 1% is in trouble (negative rates?).  I figure it is more like the top 20% using the 80-20 rule.  Hard to imagine eventually not affecting us (USA) very negatively.  I think their issue (besides fiat currency) is related to their net birth rate relative to their death rate.  Chart has a little age on it but close enough:

The weather is forever growing bad. Crops do not like bad weather as well as insurance companies. Give it a chance. Some country is going to lose it's crop and wheat will be at a premium. I find meat fruits and nuts are expensive as well as  good bread and cereal. For some reason I see an awful lot of homeless living in tents, hungry for food. A case of beer I remember was 5 dollars a case. Now over 20 bucks. Anyways the wheat chart will do the climb. My 2 cents.

speaking of wheat and corn...i noticed a lot of my fave cereals at the wholesale store, their prices have risen by as much as $1 to $3 dollars.. even my fiber cereals are almost in the "high end " bracket. 6.99 for a 16oz box?
