Double slit experiment and real life...
#1
I'm sure by now most (if not all) of you are fully aware of the double slit experiment.

In short; observation influences the outcome.

Simple enough, right?

Now, let's take this one step further and see how we can influence real life;

I know, for example I have been able to look at someone in a crowd and mentally think "turn around", and sometimes they do, and look directly at me, other times nothing happens.

Do you think someone has any chance at mastering controlling an outcome based on observation?

For example (for a more lucrative idea):
Roulette, would someone eventually be able to influence the little ball on the wheel to settle on any number they wish?

Now, how far do you think an ability would be able to expand to?

Ive always wondered about this. someone on LOP once told me they knew my name by the way I typed and said things.. do you think that is true and can really happen?

he had my name right. it wasnt spelled right but he was either messing with me or really sensed it.. this stuff confuses me and maybe because the things you mentioned above have never happened to me personally.

Hmmm, that is weird.

You see, naturally I am inclined to think "that guy was trolling you" in hopes of him knowing your name prior to telling you all this
I wonder why?
I also wonder how a name affects how you type, I'm pretty sure most people would not be able to guess my name, as it's not a regular name like Sam or Mike.

But if such wealth can be created just by manipulating matter (observing), I would think more people would have attempted to control matter.

Or maybe I'm misunderstanding quantum physics.

The "observer effect" is simply a product of the measurements being taken. The invasive nature of our mechanisms of detection actually lead to these results and YouTube rolls with it to make people believe in a false perception that is created for view counts. I don't argue that manifest destiny could be real for us humans, I've seen it work. However, the "observer effect" is not where we are going to find the elusive "why?" because we already fully understand what we are seeing, and it ISN'T consciousness effecting reality.

YeaI've got skills yo.

Yeah3

All joking aside.

I had never heard a name put on it till now.

I have had the ability since I was younger to so exactly what was stated in the op.

I can look at the back of someone's head in a crowd and will them(as I have called it) to look at me.I've done it for years and even showed my wife many times.

It's not just that either,if I feel connected to someone online or in real life I can actually feel there sadness or aggrevation without them saying a word.

Cool thread.

I always wanted the power to make a woman remove her clothes by using my mind. It's a Jedi mind trick that I'm still attempting to master. Any female volunteers ?   Chuckle

my Jedi Powers aren't working. I sense many females still have their clothes on.

Wow. I don't know how I missed this thread. Thanks for bumping it.

For those of you who have spent time hunting you know about those sorts of senses. If you're in a blind getting set to target a deer but it's not quite in position to shoot yet you do not look directly at it. They sense the predator look. How? You look just off to the side of it or you unfocus your eyes so that it's not a direct stare but a diffused one. It keeps them from spooking until it's time to pull the trigger.

I have to do the diffused stare with people too or I freak them out.

I haven't tried the Jedi Mind Trick to turn people around. I may have to see if I can do that now but I'm not very comfortable with the ethical aspects of using my will to over ride someone else's like that.

I was especially potent this way when I was a little kid. I talked about it a lot and showed people at will sometimes..
I guess I can still go there at my age but all the interest has drained out for some reason, which is a sucky feeling.
