Do you know why pets are dying of all kinds of diseases these days?

Last time Della got a rabies shot, her face started to grow a large number of grey hairs, seemingly overnight.

No more for her.

Uk doesnt have rabies.. a few countries dont.

Do they vaccinate for gay leather bars?

I hope not. They gave us Judas Priest.

On a serious note, have only had large breed dogs (boxer being the smallest) and have never had any of them have a bad reaction or get systemically sick from a rabies vaccination. Have never seen or heard about it being dangerous to pets before, so this is new to me and have no personal point of reference with it. Dude was very theatric. It put me off. Will suck it jp.and watch again.

I get it but not sure about dropping some vaccines for the pets... after today...

Ive never really been into the whole vaccine debate for People or Pets.  My kids had their vaccines before I really knew anything about possible issues.  So there was nothing I could do.  Though I did not give the Gardasil vaccine which came out later.

But my first Grandbaby was just born and my daughter is choosing not to vaccinate, she even invited me to a secret screening of  Vaxxed 2 at our local theatre, and it blew my mind! It changed my perspective on it all, even my pets future vaccines.

I have a small scale cattery, So I vaccinate all my kittys and give a yearly booster for viral rhinotracheitis (FVR; feline herpesvirus type 1), feline calicivirus (FCV), and Chlamydia felis.  And my furbabies are healthy as they can be!  But this last summer I got a 1 yr old Himalayan male named Dutch, who was to become my foundation stud.  He was the most gorgeous, sweetest, laid back and loving thing ever.  He was like a big ole snuggly sloth.

Well 3 weeks ago he came down with an upper respiratory infection.  Two of my girls got it too but they quickly shook it off.  Not Dutch though.  He got worse and worse.  After several vet visits 3 Different rounds of antibiotics/anti virals and weeks of syringe feeding... He passed away last night.  It was likely a virus.  Just the type of virus that my other kitties get a yearly booster for, but had not yet given him one.  Its the only explanation for why he was the only one who got so sick.  He had been tested and negative for FIV/FeLV/FIP/PKD so its not like his immune system was weak due to one of those.

The only thing that was different was my girls had their boosters and he had not yet.

Gonna miss you sweet boy.  I tried so hard, to save you tears

So sorry he passed Elizabeth.. how full on..

Maybe it was an immune system issue. So many things can go wrong with them.

Big hugs.

It's the hardest thing in the world to deal with such a loss. I am so sorry! I know how it feels. I still cry at times after two years for my Jazzy.

I am lucky that I now have a little orange tabby named Bubby. He is a very sweet little guy.
