The Communist government in China is doing everything it can do to eliminate Christianity within China. Churches are destroyed. Christians who don't belong to Party approved churches are arrested and tortured. The Party approved churches aren't churches. Quotes from President Xi are read instead of Scripture. Pictures of Jesus are removed and replaced with pictures of Xi. The communists announced that they are producing their own translation of the Bible, that "corrects" the texts. Several years back I read a report about a home church pastor who was arrested. The arresting officers said he had to renounce Christianity. He wouldn't, so they cut off a finger. He still refused so they cut off another finger. I don't remember how many fingers they cut off.
Those of us who believe that Jesus is who he said he is aren't suprised by what's happening in China.

Persecutions of Christians is increasing.
Not only in China but in Africa as well.
https://www.breitbart.com/africa/2019/03...ree-weeks/

Article is from last year, but this is still ongoing.
Democrats are a lot like the Communist Chinese. They want you to worship the government (well, not the current Fed Govt - THEIR government) and individual freedoms to be exchanged for policies that represent "the good of the many".
Within 10 years, probably less than 5, kids will be killing themselves on social media in an act of defiance to "save Mother Earth". Kids today are brainwashed completely and the media is heavily pushing "Humans Bad, Animals Good!".

If anyone has read "Animal Farm" they will see the parallels.

Yes. The more a country persecutes Christians, the faster Christianity grows. That's been true since the Romans fed Christians to lions in the Colosseum

Back in 1783 -1844, Opium and profits....

The Old China Trade refers to the early commerce between the Qing Empire and the United States under the Canton System, spanning from shortly after the end of the American Revolutionary War in 1783 to the Treaty of Wanghsia in 1844. The Old China Trade represented the beginning of relations between the United States and East Asia, including eventually U.S.–China relations. The Maritime fur trade was a major aspect of the Old China Trade.

If you want to make good money in China you tow the communist party line, which means you don't announce that you're Christian.
The Soviets tried to crush Christianity the same way. All they did was drive it underground. As soon as the communists lost power, Russia became the most Christian nation on earth.
Communists always make the same mistakes.

Reading quotes from Xi instead of scripture is not going to church. I know that China has had very strict rules for Muslims. Allegedly China restricts the number of Muslims worshiping together.

I googled it and China has a Freedom of Religion law. It sounds semi-fair but far from what the OP wrote.

From the Wiki page
Quote:Freedom of religion in China is provided for in the Constitution of the People's Republic of China,[1] with an important caveat: the government protects what it calls "normal religious activity," defined in practice as activities that take place within government-sanctioned religious organizations and registered places of worship. Although the dynastic governments of imperial China also claimed responsibility for the practice of religion, human rights bodies such as United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) have criticized this differentiation as falling short of international standards for the protection of religious freedom.[2]

The ruling Communist Party of China officially espouses state atheism,[3] and has conducted antireligious campaigns to this end.[4] China's five officially sanctioned religious organizations are the Buddhist Association of China, Chinese Taoist Association, Islamic Association of China, Three-Self Patriotic Movement and Chinese Patriotic Catholic Association. These groups have been overseen and controlled by the United Front Work Department of the Communist Party of China since the State Administration for Religious Affairs' absorption into the United Front Work Department in 2018.[5] Unregistered religious groups—including house churches, Falun Gong, Tibetan Buddhists, underground Catholics, and Uyghur Muslims—face varying degrees of harassment, including imprisonment, torture, and forced religious conversion to atheism.[6][
