It's been such a Mild summer here that I'm kind of worried about winter this year.
My Uncle and I where talking about it (Yes I said uncle) and it's been a good 22 years since we have seen any real snow.
I remember when I was a kid and the snow would be piled 6' high at my grandparents house.
Even back in 1994 when I was living on my boat at the marina. I remember 4' of snow fall over a 2 day period and that was at sea level.
We where up in the 100's last week and now the lows at night are down in the 50's. That's a pretty big jump for one week.
Now that I live 800' above sea level in the mountains I have this gut feeling it's going to be a harsh winter with lots of snow.

One the one hand, it will be fun to play in the snow with the kids and make snowmen and go sledding and such.
But on the other hand, the mortgage still needs to get paid and most employers don't pay snow days.

My wife, much like MC, is fed up with summer to the point where she put up the Fall decorations today. When I suggested that it might be more appropriate to wait until after Labor Day, she said "It makes me feel better". I've been married long enough to know not to argue with that logic.

I put fall stuff out after September 1st

I'm going to do the same! I love to decorate the front porch and use pumpkins and gourds and mums!

This is the color of my front door.... I love how the fall colors contrast with the cool turquoise.

I love red doors too! My house near my Grandma had a red door. Here's blurry pictures I just took...
I painted Hello and Buhbye on my door just for fun. :)
