Corona Virus - The numbers
#1
I decided I would create a thread here to provide and update the latest Corona Virus numbers.

I have been crunching numbers and made an Excel spreadsheet to crunch the numbers and save them for my personal use for future calculations. From there I will share any information I have.

There is cause for concern with using the Chinese numbers, so I will only include numbers for the United States and The world as a whole except for China. I will use the abreviation OOC (outside of China) for these numbers.

So here is a start.

March 3rd -
USA - 64 confirmed cases, 2 confirmed deaths (These were the first deaths in the USA) Yes, just 22 days ago.
OOC - 10,565 confirmed cases, 166 confirmed deaths.
OOC = Outside of China

March 25th -
USA - 55,481 confirmed cases, 806 confirmed deaths, 374 have recovered.
OOC - 360,382 confirmed cases, 16,531 confirmed deaths, 38444 have recovered.
NOTE: I pulled the latest numbers early this morning, I know they have gone up since then.

In the USA the number of confirmed cases has doubled about every 2.5 day.  If we continue on this trajectory we would have 1 million cases in the USA on about April 4th and everybody in the USA would be infected by about 4/25.  Not everybody will be infected by 4/25, so we know that this should peak in less than 30 days from now. My best guess based on the data is we will plateau in the next 7-10 days here. There is no way this wont be slowing within 15 days from now from the data here and the shelter in place across America.

I do find it alarming that only 374 have recovered while there are 806 deaths thus far in the USA.  The numbers for the wolrd outside of China 38,444 recoveries and 16,531 deaths are much better as only 30% died while 70% recovered.

Another interesting thing is there were only about 500 confirmed cases in the USA 14 days ago which means there were a ton of people without symptoms or that had not tested positive that were infecting people to get us to the latest numbers.

I hope you all are healthy and continue to stay healthy!

Hmmm...

Official government reports. The government would never lie to us. They always tell us the truth no matter what

I for one completely accept them without question or critical thinking.

Don't you?

One problem. A lot of those numbers are people who were sick weeks ago. The numbers are skewed by a lack of testing.

Watch the death and recovered numbers. Those shouldn't be skewed at all and are the most important numbers I think.

The numbers being reported are extremely low.

I know three people in Lincoln,  Nebraska that have it.... & most likely one other friend in Indiana.  Three out of four have reported on Facebook that they've been very sick for an extended period of time... Not one of these four have been "confirmed" with testing..... but were diagnosed by doctor.  So numbers that are being reported are very low. They were reporting two cases in Lincoln in the media at the same time I was aware of these three people having been diagnosed.... just not officially tested.  These three were not the same as the two cases being reported.

Only one diagnosed out of four that I know did not get very sick. A 21 year old kid.

Last I heard the test are not accurate until you are very symptomatic and even then they can give a false negative. So they usually make you wait to get tested until you are in really bad shape and go to E.R. The new test coming might be able to detect earlier 1dunno1

Everything about this virus is strange it seems. The fact that some scientists believe that this is man made, the way China covered it up and didn't allow reporting on it, the way the USA government ignored it and didn't prepare, and lastly we turned down test kits offered by W.H.O. which would have really helped early on.

Is this a Coronavirus death?

Here is another good site for numbers, but to me the numbers only show what they want us to know.
