Feels fantastic to get rid of it, that shit is just evil!

This is still, basically, Social Media..which makes me want to scream....at myself.

Good job

But you know you could have a cell phone without using social media, right?

I hope your detox from that crap goes well and you spend your extra time doing something you love

Yeah I know but cell phone are so ridiculously unhealthy for us, and I just wanted to do away with it...lol I still have a landline

Chuckle  My parents still have a landline, I don't understand why

I would like to one day limit my digital screen time, hopefully soon, I am just pretty addicted to playing some games in the evenings while I relax

I have a landline. My phone company is the internet company. My internet is cheaper than the phone line is and I don't even have caller ID on it although I am thinking about springing the $3 monthly for it. I have an old fashioned answering machine on it and if you don't talk into the answering machine, I don't answer your call. It works very well. This time my message is polite. One time I put in this message, "I'm not here. If you want to leave a message, leave one. If I want to get back to you, I will." And my Mom thought that was so rude of me. I told her, "I pay for the phone for my convenience, not everyone else's." Most of the time, my ringer was off too. The answering machine would come on and if I wanted to answer it, I would. Talk to the machine.  Chuckle

But my phone company will not give me either internet or tv cable without a phone. Must take their landline phone service. Costs me $72 a month for internet and phone. I have 350 long distance minutes on it I rarely use I pay for too. They hubby streams videos on his flat tv in the living room 24/7. I stream vids a whole lot too. No problems, no throttling. So worth it. $12 of it is taxes and .gov crap fees and such.  Eyeroll

I do have a cell phone. Two of them actually. I have an Obama phone. It came in the mail. A flat smart type of phone I don't know how to use. I use it to make a couple calls a month and they put, I don't know how many minutes on it a month. You have to use it or they don't put any minutes on it the next month so I call the other cell phone a couple times a month with it. It's only charged up for one day a month. I like the camera of it. It's better than my other cell, which is a flip phone. It is charged up with the other one, one day a month or so. Only when I go somewhere and I don't go anywhere. Cost money every time I go to town. Money I ain't got.  popnana

A landline is good because if you put it on a wire and do not use a portable phone around your house, your side of the conversation can not be recorded and used against you in a court of law without them getting a warrant to tap into your line. A cell phone or portable land line has no protection by law and by the court's rulings. So anything you say, do and put on those cells and portables can be recorded and shoved in your face in court legally. My line is on a wire. Call me paranoid.  V6sRZf4

I use a toshiba laptop to play online. Guess it's around 5 years old now or so. Works great. I do have Win 10. I downloaded it the last day it was free. But my backup disc is Win ? whatever was before Win 10? Wasn't Win 7, just after Win 7 is the one I got because I loved Win 7 and hated the new one. But I am at home in my bedroom where I live mostly. The hubby and I don't watch the same type of stuff. He's not political. He loves his tv. Besides, most of the phone calls are for him. I rarely get a call. I am a loner except for this forum. It's my... social group I hang with? Yep, this is it.  popnana

Well you're not a loner on the fringe Kiss

And it's nice to see you're not heavy into technology, I am myself but I am from the generation that grew up with computers (33 years old today)

My dream would be to make enough money so I could go buy a home in the woods, near a little town with a decent supermarket and just live in peace
Check the news once or twice a day online, work outside, or work inside, take care of dogs and cats, and just enjoy life.

Alas, I doubt life will allow me to escape it easily

I have EHS, electromagnetic hypersensitivity, caused by this defective malicious technology.

I can't tolerate being around wifi and cell phones and smart meters very long without feeling sick, then getting extremely sick.

A nine month exposure to a smart meter next to my home office put me in the hospital twice with peripheral edema of the legs(they swelled up like I had gout because my peripheral circulation was damaged. My vaso-constrictor muscles in the legs weren't pushing blood and waste back up to my heart.

Pulsed RF radiation damages membranes including blood vessels, and it also caused involuntary muscle contractions, and can block both voluntary and involuntary ones.

After the initial hospitalizations I developed other symptoms and hypersensitivity.

In subsuquent exposures to smart meters at close proximity my heart beat was induced into arrythmia.

The muscles contracted "out of time" and I felt like I almost blew out a heart valve the first time.

Just like a car with out of time ignition, you can do engine damage; you can cause heart damage if the muscles squeeze at the wrong time.

This leaves me in a bad position.

I can't work anywhere with WIFI, or a smart meter near me.

So my best alternative is outdoor work, like farm work, lawn service, leaf service.

Problem with lawn work is you need a CELL PHONE to get the jobs.

Please everybody abandon this toxic crap.

3/4 of my dogs now have tumors from living near the cell towers that wouldn't be there if you didn't have a dunce fone.

One of them died from mast cell cancer a couple years ago.

I never had a cell phone or Vanity Book or any of the others.  Some of us don't fall for every gimmick just because it's popular.
