It was yummy ... also on the menu ... collard greens, corn bread and peach cobbler. A taste of heaven, for sure!

Sounds like a Georgia menu!   Yeah3

It does, right? Especially the peach cobbler.

Good afternoon, C&B. Heartflowers

For two days I've been watching them "remove" the manufactured home that burned across the street from me on July 4.
Times have sure changed! I was expecting them to either hitch it to a truck and pull it away or dismantle it here and haul the pieces away.
But you wouldn't believe this! Yesterday they came in with a huge backhoe and a very huge dump truck, and just tore into it with that backhoe. Time after time, just CHOMP swing the backhoe over to the truck and DUMP. Chomp, dump, chomp, dump ... over and over again, how many dozens of times I don't know. They left last night shortly before dark and were here again early this morning.

But it gets better. /sarc/ ... The guy with the backhoe chomped into the water line that feeds the whole park a couple hours ago. We still don't have water. Which has messed up my to-do list for today, which included "laundry", "water indoor plants", "make chicken soup" (I bought the chicken yesterday).

So here I am playing on my computer, and it's 2:15 in the afternoon, and I'm not getting things done today!! Grrrr.

I just checked again ... Still no water. Ham

Odd that they couldn’t repurpose the frame or find someone prepared to.

Add a few 2.5 gallon water jugs (easy to lift) to the prep list ~ tuck them away for emergencies. You'll have enough for coffee and chicken soup, not to mention a bit to wash with. [Image: 922822270.gif]

Unfortunately we have an owner/park manager who is in her 80's, and is a bit tight with the pocketbook (understatement), and it is up to her to have it repaired and paid for. They've "gone after a part" (her words just a few minutes ago), but it wasn't available at the local hardware store so "they" (whoever they is) are out scouting for a part. I suggested to her to call a plumber (and gave her two names of plumbers who have worked in this park) and she said "I will pass the word on to my son when he returns (her son is part of the "they have gone after a part" that I referred to earlier).

Needless to say, I am ticked off, and so are the other 50+ people living in this park. It's been over three hours now !! Angry
