Big Bear
#1
We were just visited by the neighborhood bear. The dog woke me up and I thought it was one of the kids coming home. The dog was barking so I shined a light out there and it was a really big bear. He stopped looked at me and turned towards the window. One scary bear.

This is the neighbors photo of him from last week.

They're hungry this time of year too, not much for grub yet. We had a bear breaking fences to get at the apple trees, not a big one like that but did enough damage. We ran electric fence around the yard, I smeared some salmon oil on the wire. We didn't see or hear it happen, the bear licked the wire and the gouges in the gravel where he took off were 4" deep Jptdknpa haven't seen it since.
Be careful, they're cranky and many have cubs. Heartflowers

Large black bear correct?

If so, that is a big one. Not something you want losing its fear of humans.

It needs to be scared away.

It was a black bear. It was not scared away by lights, dog, seeing me in the window.
He left when he wanted. Worried because one of the kids works the graveyard shift
and gets home every early a.m.

That is a risky situation.

Rock salt .12 or .20 gauge (bore)

If that doesn't work I would be tempted to "have it put down"

...ahem..

...maybe we should have invested?

We could do a gofund me for you to get a PROPER bear-proof suit? The Fringe bear-proof suit.

I like this idea.
