During the 1960s, the Sperry & Hutchinson (S&H) company promoted its rewards catalog as being the largest publication in the United States and boasted that it issued three times as many stamps as the U.S. Postal Service. We kids did most of the lickin' and stickin' to put the stamps in the books just so mom could get one of those crappy 'gifts' they gave out.

God knows how many of them I licked and put in those books. We had an S&H store in our town where you could trade them for whatever.
