Arizona Bill 1625- Assualt to Second Amendment
#1
Sirenicon
Arizona your second amendments rights are being threatened. Senate Bill 1625 is a major gun grab. Your guns will not be grandfathered in. If this passes you will have 90 days to turn over your weapon or disable it. This bill is extreme.

Arizona gun store owner says proposed assault weapon ban has boosted sales

Arizona lawmakers introduced last week a bill aimed at stopping people, and businesses, from selling or owning assault weapons and large-capacity magazines. Senator Rebecca Rios sponsored Senate Bill 1625, and 11 other lawmakers backed the legislation.

Veerachart Murphy, the owner of North Phoenix gun store Ammo AZ, said the bill has boosted sales. “I’m taking phone calls as far as ‘hey, should I come get something now?’ I’m trying to ensure them: ‘Look, don’t panic, buy,” Murphy said. He said sales “have literally been up about 50 to 70 percent,” with the AR-15 being the number one most sought after weapon.

SB 1625 details what constitutes an assault rifle. Among the definitions, a semiautomatic rifle with a detachable magazine. “Here’s the thing about assault rifles: There’s no such thing,” said Murphy, instead, calling them semiautomatic rifles.

Government employees, agents, and officers are exempt from the legislation. Manufactures also have exceptions listed in the bill. If passed, gun owners would have to move weapons that fit the description out of Arizona, make them inoperable, or hand them over to the appropriate law enforcement agency within 90 days of the legislation passing.

The first comment from the loose rounds link. Hit the nail on the head .

Quote:This bill is DOA. The Republicans barely held onto a narrow majority in the Legislature here after the 2018 election, and they won’t let this through. I doubt the Governor would sign it, too.

There are 17 Republican and 13 Democrats in the state Senate . The Republicans will never let it get through .

But I’ve got to admire gun shop owners. This is one hell of a sales pitch . Chuckle

This is no 'sales pitch'. This is the Democrats showing their hand.
The are presenting this today, and yes it will fail.
Then they present it again 12 months from now, again it will fail.
They present it again 10 months after that, it will fail. But each time gaining more and more support.
Repeat and repeat until they get what they want.
The idea here is that they get the public used to the idea of gun bans and restrictions. After a few timely shootings and the media amping up the noise on the shootings - each time more and more people are persuaded that the bill "isn't such a bad idea".
The Constitution was written for a moral, decent people. Even the Founding Fathers knew its limitations. It works when your neighbor and the majority are respectful law abiding citizens.
We no longer have that - by design.
In 25 years or less - the way things are going today - the 2nd A will be radically altered or eliminated and the People will demand it of their elected officials - because they have been brainwashed and society will be 10 times more repugnant than it is today.

I hope the rally on Saturday is well attended because the lawmakers need to see an opposing force.

Thanks and agreed.
A huge turnout is required to show the politicians that "We the People" are not afraid and to remind them that the government is supposed to be "of the people, by the people and FOR the people"
And while they are at it, push for restrictions on immigration, building the wall and throwing illegals back over it.

Sure it was the bill wasn’t going anywhere .

Think about it for a minute. It’s going to help gun sales and the scare tactic will also bring more Republican voters out.

Same thing as in Virginia with the passage that just happened in legislature and governor sure to sign . . I haven’t checked but you can bet your ass before it passed sales went up. Just like Obama’s threats. He was the best advertiser for the gun industry ever .

The Democrats will be content with their “ victory “ but they’re shooting their self in the foot. Democrats won’t be angry cause they got their way. But Republicans will be angry and more will turn out to vote pissed of with the gun grabbers running their state

Trump lost Virginia by around 200,000 votes. With the passage of that law there is a good chance the democrats could lose Virginia for the first time in God knows when .

Then when that law comes before the Supreme Court if it makes it that far .

Heller vs DC Will hold .

Passages of crap like that in battleground states can only be good for us .

We need to think through this stuff and approach it from a different angle. Instead of just repeating the same things over and over .

I’ve been hearing your scenario since the 70s. It ain’t happened yet .

I almost forgot. It the challenge against banning high-capacity magazines and assault rifles against Baltimore in 2017. The court refused to hear it because of standing .

A new case made it to the court in September 2019 . The court is looking at the constitutionality of 300 state laws in a case with proper standing .

SCOUTS it’s going to shit on every Democrat dream .
