Are your animals included in your disaster plans?

I like my dogs (and secretly, that infernal cat of my son's) better than most people I know. Of course they're going with me if I evacuate

Bless you, mc!
This place is full of good people.

Thundershirts are a thing now. People say they work. Made for dogs or cats.

Does the Thundershirt really work?

The other thing I can reccommend is Bach's Rescue Remedy. Put it in the water bowl or on a treat. Stuff works. I noticed Walmart sold this too.

My daughter took in a stray after Matthew. He had gotten lost and was hungry but turned out to be a great dog. No one claimed him so they kept him.
I remember Floyd. I was in Lenoir county and the news was full of stranded pets.
Reflective tape on their collars...Pics and medical records in your bag just in case. For light colored dogs, write their name and your number with permanent marker on their bellies.

Animal people are going to save this world one day. Or at the very least, save our little corners of it.
Great ideas!

A couple of years ago a tropical storm was passing through and when it first started to rain I had to go check on something. On my way back I saw a dog looking lost so I turned around and followed him. He was then in a small ditch, I stopped and tried to get him to come with me. He ran off, and as I tried to follow him I noticed someone in a car watching me. I no longer saw the dog, and I think the person in the car was suspicious of me, they started to follow me, like I was a dognapper. Maybe it was their dog, I don't know. The storm wasn't so bad, so I figured the dog made it ok. Sometimes animals act afraid when you are trying to help them.

I always carry high value (good smelling) treats in the truck and more than one lead (leash).
I got my Sasha when some evil POS abandoned she and her litter on a highway. A friend was coming home and had BBQ sandwiches in the car. It was temptation enough they got two of the pups. Lord only knows what happened to the rest.

Loki has enough raw for a week on ice and another few days of canned after that.I hate giving him canned or kibble so I hope by then, we'll be able to find an alternative.

My heart goes out to people who have herds of things.
How do you move 20 cows? And to where?
Goats, sheep, pigs, horses, food stock and pet stock, so difficult!
Flocks, and laying houses....

Extra prayers for the helpless. Mercy if you can, O Lord.

I have a cat who is terrified of the outdoors, storms, the pet carrier and car rides. He practically ripped out his fingernails on a 30 minute ride to the vet. The vet suggested Rescue drops. She said if I can only get the human drops (and not the specially made pet drops), to use half as much.

It works! Works perfect! Heck, even works on me! LOL
