Only one burglary, an automobile burglary, was reported to county police in the Satilla Shores neighborhood between Jan. 1 and Feb. 23, according to documents obtained by The News in a public records request to the Glynn County Police Department. It involved a Smith & Wesson M&P 9 mm pistol stolen Jan. 1 from a pickup truck outside 230 Satilla Drive, the home of Travis McMichael, according to the police report.

Gregory McMichael moved the 2011 Ford F-150 from one spot to another in front of the home at around 9:30 a.m. Jan. 1, forgetting to lock it afterward, Travis McMichael told police. About an hour later, Travis McMichael found the handgun’s empty holster on the unlocked truck’s seat, the report said.

Who thinks Travis is a fibber?

Seems to me the key moment did not make it on video.

You can see the jogger plan on going left of the pick up, but then goes right to avoid the man.
When he gets around the truck, we lose the scene for a moment. You hear a shot and then you see the jogger attacked the guy with the gun and is punching him.

Did he go around the truck and charge at the guy with the gun? That is what it seems like, but why would anyone do that. It seems to confirm their claim...he went for the guy's gun.

Which is not to say that they had a right to pursue him with guns and stop him in the first place.

but...if he had just kept jogging and ignored them, I don't think they would have shot him.

Why not let the police handle it?

here is what is being posted as the 9-11 transcript....there as no link provided where I read it....so take it for what it's worth:

Action News Jax, which covers Glynn County, obtained the 911 call. Its content is seen below.

Caller: “There’s a guy in the house right now. It’s under construction.”
Dispatcher: “And you said someone’s breaking into it right now?”
Caller: “No, it’s all open. It’s under construction ... and there he goes right now.”
Dispatcher: “OK, what is he doing?”
Caller: “He is running down the street.”
Dispatcher: “That’s fine. I will get police out there. I just need to know what he was doing wrong. Was he just on the premises and not supposed to be?”
Caller: “He has been caught on camera a bunch at night. It’s kind of an ongoing thing. The man building the house has got heart issues. I think he’s not going to finish it.”
Dispatch: “OK, that’s fine. And you said he was a male in a black T-shirt?”
Caller: “White T-shirt. Black guy, white T-shirt. He’s done run into the neighborhood again.”

Greg McMichael apparently believed Arbery was the man responsible for the break-ins, though NBC News reported last week that authorities had not linked him to the alleged crimes.

I wonder where those tapes of him going into the house are. You would think those would be somewhere in the news.

It makes no sense to me. The only thing to steal on a building site is tools. And this guy was on foot. Running down the road with a skill-saw would draw attention. The articles didn't state what Ahmaud had on him.

I believe those men are in the wrong.

yeah, it's not even confirmed he's the same guy as whoever was in the house.

I would also say the shooters are in the wrong....but I think the point St. Blue made about going at someone with a gun in their hand played a huge role in shots being fired.

What shocked me was seeing it on tape....I mean people get shot a killed everyday all over the world....but seeing it makes it different for me. It just seems soooo unnecessary.

Arrests made in shooting death of black man after outcry

SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) — Georgia authorities arrested a white father and son Thursday and charged them with murder in the February shooting death of a black man they had pursued in a truck after spotting him running in their neighborhood.

I am happy that these two were arrested. Sadly it took the video being released and public outcry for this case to be looked at in an unbiased manner. I believe the McMichael's were originally given a free pass due to the father's past employment.

Two local district attorneys recused themselves from the case over possible conflicts of interest: Gregory McMichael had worked for the Glynn County Police Department as well as the District Attorney's Office at one time.

somewhat ironic, if I understand the story correctly, that the person filming the episode was with the McMichaels to document their tracking of Arbery.

Would they even face charges without the vid?

Good Video has pictures of everybody, family speaks, and more details.....The video maker Bryan may be charged, and the former attorney for the McMichaels released the vid, shows he believed them guilty

(you know, the dispatcher said the police were coming, the McMichaels really showed intent to take the law into their own hands)

It seems I rushed to judgment... I apologize for not waiting until more info was available.

Pretty stupid.

It does appear premeditated (by the two gunners). I guess with all of the coddlings of criminals I had become biased. I will try to learn from my prejudices stemming from the past. Every case is different. I am not saying the guy was an angel but maybe did NOT deserve to get gunned down like a dog.

The new construction areas and OPEN homes are a magnet for stalkers and theives historically.
