This snippet sums it up and why ILLEGAL scum need to go and the LEGAL scum that hire them need to go to jail.

But wages have spiked upwards for Americans when employers were forced to give up their illegal workforces. Enforcement actions aided African-American bakers in Chicago and Somali refugees in Iowa and throughout the Midwest after the 2006 enforcement at the Swift & Co. meatpacking company.

Yes. It all boils down to one thing; money.
Illegals will work for bottom dollar while citizens rightfully demand at least minimum pay and rights.

So when employers whinge that "wages have spiked upwards", what they're really saying is that without an illegal workforce, they are now forced to pay what a worker is legally due.

Before we were married the wife worked at a chicken plant. The supervisor's said she was not productive enough, even though she was a new employee. so they took her stool. She didn't last long there. Chuckle
