11 Children Rescued from Nightmarish Heavily Armed Remote Compound in New Mexico

11 children rescued from filthy compound looked like 'third-world country refugees'

Authorities swarmed a filthy compound in rural New Mexico on Friday and rescued 11 children, ages 1 to 15, after an armed standoff with one of two men, who have since been arrested.

Eight members of the Taos County Sheriff's Office converged on the residence in Amalia, described by authorities as a "makeshift compound" surrounded by tires and an earthen berm that had no electricity or running water, after securing a warrant to search the remote property for a missing 3-year-old boy who was allegedly kidnapped from Georgia by his father, 39-year-old Siraj Wahhaj.

What's concerning is the FBI's unwilling to act.

According to this the little boy he kidnapped from Georgia was not found. I'd read somewhere else the little boy is autistic.

"On Dec. 10, 2017, in Clayton County, Ga., a woman reported Wahhaj had taken their young son Abdul-Ghani Wahhaj to the park nine days earlier and she had not seen them since, according to the Clayton County Police Department.

She said the boy had serious medical issues, including seizures and developmental and cognitive delays and had suffered brain damage at birth that left him unable to walk. She said she didn’t know if the boy and his father had his medication."

However, 11 other children, ranging in age from 1 to 15, were removed and taken into protective custody. They are now in the hands of the New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department.

“Three women believed to be the children’s mothers were also detained (Friday) while investigators continue to sort out details of the case,” Sheriff Jerry Hogrefe wrote in a news release.

LOTS OF INFO in that article. The two men were extremist muslim belief. Someone somehow smuggled a note out saying they were starving. FBI had them under surveillance...The compound was loaded with weapons with ammunition found buried.

They weren't unwilling to act they did not feel they had enough info to go in, Neither did the sheriffs office until the note was smuggled out.

For exactly how long authorities knew about the compound's occupants is unknown, but gunfire could be heard "from the property on a regular basis," according to a search warrant sworn out by Taos County Sheriff Jerry Hogrefe and executed this week. In Hogrefe's account of the site, he describes "what appears to be a shooting range" along one side.

Funny how that works...

They bust people for growing marijuana or distilling alcohol with warrants...

How did Waco transpire? What if Koresh was actually protecting children?
