The best way to describe the TSP indicator is a Voodoo
priestess looks at chicken entrails on the ground and
makes predictions. Same principle.
We now have the longest running bull market in U.S. stock
market history. Ever. This is possible because the Feds did
2 magic things:
    1. They lowered interest rates to near zero and have kept
it there since the hit of 2008.
     2. They are creating money from nothing. Poof. Out of
nowhere. Notice I did not write "Printing money."
That takes too much time. They make it on the computer
         with ones and zeros.
So, you remember the 2 TARP programs around 2008 & 2009 ?
Each handing out taxpayer money of nearly ONE TRILLION each
time to nobody knows where. Poof. What many are not aware of is
the GOV decided it wise to create $85 BILLION a month starting in
mid-2011 and just keep giving it to 'the too big too fail banks.' That
comes out to nearly ONE TRILLION more a year. Poof. ( I never did
hear if they stopped that program). It does explain how we went from
9 TRILLION in debt in 2009 to over 20 TRILLION in 2017.
How are we doing? Look at #1 and #2. If they mess with them even
a little, the game is done. I am not alone in this thinking. Check out:

LOL!! Jptdknpa   I just watch receivables and I can tell when clients are stressed.  Its not rocket science but it has served me well for decades.  Connect into that clients/industry delaying large capital expenditures and you have a fairly accurate picture of the financial environment.

The TSP has been reliable since 1953 or thereabouts.
All it does is signal the recessions just before they occur.

The financial system is a house of cards. Most people are in debt up to their eyeballs.

Except for me. No debt and all property owned free and clear. Vehicles free and clear.

I've had bankers after me because I won't go into debt. Apparently I am abnormal. They become suspicious of me.

I sleep so well at night with the fresh mountain air; knowing I don't owe money to anyone for anything. It makes for lower blood pressure.

It is about as good as any of the other indicators. Most
say this is a zombie economy propped up by silly government
intervention. They need to stay out of it. Let the system correct
itself. But, no. Big government egos scream. "It will be different
this time." What I see is the clown posse getting out of their little
VW. After they are done running around the ring, people are going
to get hurt badly.
It was not until 1953 our stock market regained its original position
from the 1929 crash factoring indexed inflation. This time the mess
is bigger. Consider just how many people are dependent on government.

OK, I went to see if I could find something on the TSP indicator so it would be that much easier to understand just what it is and just how it works. I found a great article on ZeroHedge linked below.

I don't know, Mole. That all looks rather complicated.
I'm a public skrool grad and all. I kind of like a simple
approach like phxsparks. Look at lots of companies
Receivables. IF they will communicate such valuable
information to the rest of us.

Yeah, the old manual approach which is tested, tried, and somewhat true is pretty reliable. However, the TSP is more detailed and clearly shows the crossovers and the warning areas where you should begin to expect a negative downturn in economic strength. One cannot argue with logic when it's clearly in view and has been reliable for the past 65 years calling every recession in advance and accurately as well. Therefore, there is no logical reason the think this time will be any different!

In this instance, however, I'll take the technicals over the fundamentals any day. As a matter-of-fact, I have always preferred the technicals over the fundamentals. To base anything economic on fundamentals is foolish and/or suicidal. Why? Because there is so much unreliable news and misinformation being intentionally spewed and that's where all the volatility becomes dominant causing economic chaos in every part of the economy!

In a lot of rural areas you can buy land cheap. Think about that. Get some land and put whatever type of home on it you desire. To me, that is living the American dream.
