Starbucks Coffee Company is preparing to receive a backlash from customers who are upset about former CEO Howard Schultz potentially running for president. The company has provided Baristas with a list of talking points to help eliminate tense and rather controversial conversations with customers.

Talking points..snip

If a customer asks if we are selling Howard’s book at Starbucks:
No, the books are available at bookstores and online.

If a customer attempts to investigate, or share aggressive political opinions, attempt to diffuse the situation by sharing:
We respect everyone’s opinion. Our goal is simply to create a warm and welcoming space where we can all gather, as a community, over great coffee.

We all benefit from a free open and transparent "Marketplace of Ideas".
The voices that attempt to drown out or censor that process are the ones that have the most to fear from it.

I almost never go to a Starbucks. They burn their beans. No French Roast, too "common" for the uppity AHs. But, I might go in if I could watch angry democrats pound on each other.

It must be hell to be a Starbucks barista. You never know what crazy shit is going to be thrown at you just for making a cup of coffee.

If he announces his bid after all, walk in with a competitor's coffee drink, big label on the cup, sit back, sip slowly, and enjoy the shit show that will ensue with other guests. Jptdknpa
